Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
snide comments ? i'm sticking up for the team... someone made a comment about a long since banned former poster (dont know why, i thought he were alright) remarking on some other long since gone poster. since one eventually got banned and the others no longer here, i carnt remember what it were, but, i'm guessing it werent kind and its content were kinda re-directed at me. i'm not arsed myself, i'm not looking what it were.jaffka wrote: we are at home against Leeds
now that your expectations are known, maybe you will join the present and leave your snide comments in the past
someone misread "nearly as bad" as "the absolute worst ever, even worse than coyles verses manutd , liverpool , chelsea, and that other team" and as a result i had to explain myself more , but that werent my fault.
i only mentioned coyle in that instance coz i couldnt remember the season date (the season before last season , i think).
i only mentioned relegation and kevin davies to make a point about the captain simply being a vessel that goes "stand there for this corner" and other pointless shit the players should know already. but take it off him , give it to the guy that carnt speak english. i know zat's contract wont end on his birthday or get his wife to moan in the papers when they take the captaincy off him... some of that is kinda snide. i admit. i have however wished no injury on a current player.
i think the next home games against leeds who bankrupted themselves twice to get round debt then got bought by some moneybags foriegners. financial fair play at work.
we might fluke a draw. if we dont , i might stab that fixture list* . or shout "megson out" a lot*
"3 point after 6 games !!! erm,.. woot !? "
*not really

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
The first 5 games have been tough, yes, but so what? The fans of Burnley, QPR, Reading, Forest and Blackburn would have been expecting a very tough game and I don't think any of them would have expected a win. Blackburn and Forest fans wouldn't have looked at us and thought "we'll smash these", yet both of them won by 3 goals. It's pathetic. The fixture list hasn't been ideal but you have to get on with it and these poor results can't be excused just because we happened to play these sides early in the season.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Right, we need a new defence or at least a Centre Back that is quick and can tackle.
That performance yesterday was laughable and I 'happy' that DF has bo**ocked them, the team need it after yesterday.
Spearing should be Capt.

Pfffft.

Nixon confirmed we are after Paddy McCarthy from Palace on loan. A 30 year centre half.TKIZ! wrote:Right, we need a new defence or at least a Centre Back that is quick and can tackle.

I know absolutely nothing about him. Anyone shed any light on him?

I looked into him at the start of summer, when I was looking at possible Palace pinches. Been injured a lot but has been captain and he is a centre-back who isn't Zat or Wheats. Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Our League Cup run lasted twice as long this season, as last iirc - didn't we go out to Crawley in the first round last year? If we did, that's a significant improvement and if it continues, we'd be at Wembley in a couple of years time.Lord Kangana wrote:And out of the league cup. He's got a point, we can't compete with the likes of Tranmere.

Wembley? Don't want to go there, we're bound to lose.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
The fixture list has been tough relative to the other teams in the Championship, but they are all games against teams who will have a similiar-ish wage budget to ours. It's not even remotely close to the difference between a lower Premier League team and Man City or Chelsea. If we were in the Premier League with Forest or Blackburn we'd be expecting to take points off them, so I don't know why it would be any different now.

This sent shivers down my spine. If we don't get then we ain't going up. This is so like an OC comment. Give him until Chrimbo and see how he performs."We have to try and recruit which is difficult. We have to bring in a certain type of player who shows enough hunger for this football club."

Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
according to the lion of vienna suite....
so - it'll cost us £2,500 every time dougie picks him! some responsibility if you're counting the pennies!!Per the club, Bolton will pay £450,000 for Rob Hall up front to West Ham with the potential fee rising based on his appearances, whether Bolton go up, and other incentives:
According to West Ham United's release, the other incentives are as follows:
• £250,000 if Bolton are promoted to the Premier League in the next three seasons
• £2,500 per appearance for the first 100 appearances (for Bolton) in the Championship
• or £10,000 per appearance for the first 100 appearances (for Bolton) if in the Premier League
• 20% of any profit made by Bolton Wanderers in selling the player to another club at any point in the future.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
gartside said that hamann signed the contract but we didn't counter-sign it, we just put it in a drawer - then hamann changed his mind and City were interested - so we sold him to them for £400,000 when we didn't actually own him...Lord Kangana wrote:What did he say?

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
He boasted about getting £400k that city didn't really need to pay for Hamman as the papers hadn't been countersigned. Sounds like bollocks though, since he was registered as BWFC player and we had his signature so could countersign whenever we wanted. He's a dick for coming out with it on radio though, trying to make himself look clever.
