Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Well lets be honest here, the bloke that signed him thought he was a striker. Along with Sordell.Prufrock wrote:Well, it took a lot longer than four games, but you never seemed to figure out that Mark Davies isn't one either!BL3 wrote:Four games is long enough to work out that N'gog isn't a winger.plymouth wanderer wrote:BL3 can't believe your still fvcking harping onBL3 wrote:Absolutely spot on. Unbeaten runs are irrelevant if it's just one draw after another. We won't be promoted by picking up three points every three games. Better to win two, lose one. In the last four games we've taken as many points as Ipswich and they've lost two of those 5-0 and 6-0.Tombwfc wrote:Talk of going unbeaten is pretty meaningless. Fair enough if we're fighting for survival in the Premier League and most teams get 0 points a week, but when we're aiming for 1.86 ppg (for 75 points and the playoffs), wins are pretty much all that count. If you don't win, that number goes up.
If you can't expect us to beat Barnsley, who can you expect us to beat? Presumably only the spoilt and deluded would expect us to win away at Brighton or Blackburn, so that's another two games where the target will be drifting further and further away.
Dougie can have all the time in the world for me, but there's no point pretending there were any positive signs yesterday. There just weren't.
It's been 4 fvcking games
Don't you think he deserves abit more time
6 games at least
I don't think N'Gog wide in that shape was neccessarily a bad idea. It clearly didn't work though and he looked lost. Not worried about trying things, I might be worried if we see that again though.

Usual sort of stuff, not a lot. Wouldnt say it's worth reading back much.TKIZ! wrote:What have I missed?
Some slight humour bypasses and poor tone choices alongside polarising opionioneering which could be taken as wumming or trolling or could be taken as a clarion call in a wilderness land.
As Tom Waits said" In the lnad of the blind the one eyed man is king" and as withnail said "Even a stopped clock tells the time twice a day.
Oh and some rather silly statements about everyone being a bit dense.
As for the match ,apparentlynot a lot as Paul Daniels might say

The stated priority is promotion this season. If it's now a long term goal, what was the point of changing the manager 10 games in? There's an awful lot of complacency on here about us pushing on next season. If we don't go up this season, the odds will be a lot longer next season.Enoch wrote:Couldn't agree more.At least we can give him time to properly implement before we start tearing what surely little hair we all have left.....
He's inherited a squad that's not firing, it will take a while to truly understand who's who. Some will become part of his plans, some will be moved on, others will be brought in. Much as we might like, it cannot happen overnight.
Whatever happens, I doubt I'll be judging him before this time next year.

The point of changing the manager 10 games in was that he was on course to take us down for the second season in the row. Said manager had presided over 18 months of inconsistency and disappointment, and was not showing any sign of being able to turn us around. Said manager had also been unable to shore up a defence in dire straits.BL3 wrote:The stated priority is promotion this season. Re: The Tykes Thread
We didn't change the manager to avoid relegation. We changed the manager because, according to Phil Gartside, "It is the right time for a change. We set a target at the beginning of the season and want to get back on track." That target was promotion this season.truewhite15 wrote:The point of changing the manager 10 games in was that he was on course to take us down for the second season in the row. I don't think there's any complacency. There might be some realistic resignation that's it's possibly too late to do a lot this season, seeing as Coyle right royally fxcked us up at the start of it.

We are only 7 points off the playoffs and a long way to go,we still have time to do something this season, although I agree we need to start turning draws into wins..But more backing and less Booing could make a world of difference out on the green stuff..

There is still 29 games by my reckoning. As they used to say on that old kids episodic drama "anything can happy in the next half a season" or something like that
Pfffft.

Re: The Tykes Thread
We need to win the next 13 games straight to get to our 2ppg.
That's every game between now and Feb 2nd.
If we do that I'll demolish the town hall steps, transport each brick to Rio de Janeiro, rebuild them and then dance naked upon them in the Mardi Gras.
