But like I said, its a bit pointless arguing with someone who would even start to make the comparison.
I agree LK. Beckford is 29 and never really made it. I'm happy with the way he's played the last few games for us, in the Championship.

I suspect I'd have to travel some distance to find an opposition Premiership defender, who'd rather play against a 29 year old Davo than the current Beckford.

I reckon we have some supporters that probably have Alzheimer's.

right now - and I mean not 4 or 5 yrs ago or some time in the distant future - I'd rather be seeing beckford pull on that strikers shirt than SKD.. just sayin' - whether anyone asked me or not!

We don't really need to demean one in order to praise the other though do we?

Thanks for that but its still not coming from the horses mouth.
It's a fair cop. I just thought the question was over a "nothing to see here." I'm assuming DSB was wondering why the Milwall fans act up when similar folk nearby don't.

If you ask me. :D But I'm just trying to mediate.

Living in that smoggy overcrowded sh*t hole they have to call home is punishment enough.
Point taken, but not everybody that lives nearby is a knuckle-dragging waste of organs. Which implies that they don't have to be.
Not sure what your point is, are you sticking up for them?
I think he is saying that not everyone that lives in London/East London is a knuckle dragging...well, you get the meaning. I used to live in Canary Wharf, a mere stones throw from Millwall (Isle of Dogs is in Millwall), and I as well as most inhabitants were completely normal people and no more racist than anyone from anywhere. DSB lives in London and is a very decent and affable chap.
Apologies for absence, have been busy moving house (not particularly near Millwall, in fact from Middlesex to Surrey, because I'm clearly now middle-aged). AT (and others) read my meaning correctly: not every Londoner is a moron, and not every moron is a Londoner. I have no idea how anyone could interpret what I wrote as "sticking up for" racists.

Heh, great stuff. The club's social media has come on a lot this year - think they appointed someone new in summer and there's been some good ideas (Twitter Q&As, training headcams, etc).

Should use black nets, they don't distract the eye as much...

I liked Kevin Davies at his best. I like Jermaine Beckford now. I like it most when Bolton win. I'd like it if that was enough.

From my perch in North Upper the bright electronic boards shining through the gloom up the other end made it difficult to see the ball when Beckford scored. :?

I think clubs should have nets which match their colours, but er... navy for us.

The ad hoardings? Yeah, that would be annoying if you couldn't see the football for the ads...

I was moaning about this to my mate. I find them a massive distraction and I don't even choose to look at them. That flickering casino one is particularly annoying, doing the fruit machine thing as a backdrop to the ball. They definitely detract from my viewing, my mince-pies aren't the best to begin with. Do a lot of clubs have them?

My comment was directed towards 'those' Millwall fans, quite why you decided to take the umphh that it was directed towards all Londoners I find ridiculous. However I will kindly offer to accept you have been under the stress of moving house.

Have you still got your beard?

I didn't get the 'ump; I simply emphasised your point by noting that not all Londoners are wankers, so they (Millwall fans) should be able to avoid it. Not even all those who live near Cold Blow Lane are wankers: mate of mine lives just down the (oldkent)road and is one of the nicest chaps I know.

No beard. Movember, innit.

If you think Ream's defending was poor for their goal (which it was, unmistakably a mistake) then check out the Millwall left-back (No.12) for our opening goal. The lad's appealing for offside!! hahahaha! Pathetic. If he'd have got on with it he would have easily snuffed out Hall's shot. As it was he watched on like a lemon.

Sheesh! Schooooolboy!

Made up for that with the pass, but it's still startling that he gets 'done' by such poor opposition so often.
I don't understand what you have against Ream. You constantly have a go at him and it's not just comments saying "he's not good enough" or whatever, there's always an accusation of him being weak, a coward or something like that. It seems personal, for whatever reason.

Ream's 'mistake' wasn't that bad, anyway. He was initially in a good position but when the pass was struck, it went past a Millwall player who tried to stop it but it had too much pace on it for him, so that caused the pass to go onto their striker very quickly. Ream had no time to adjust his body position and he lost his man. That's not a big deal, certainly nothing like you'd think reading some comments on here. It wasn't good defending but these things can happen. I think Ream probably expecting the first Millwall player to stop the ball but because he missed it, Ream was wrong footed. It was a minor but costly mistake and, unfortunately, these things happen. I'd be more worried about defenders missing tackles or being in the wrong place altogether than these minor things which are very hard to prevent.
I agree with SF :D
Bolton winning, us agreeing...there must be something in the water!
