If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

I don't want to piss on anyone's chips, but others are apparently saying that both deals fell through last night....

Pity because Teixierra is a decent player

Looks like you're right. I got the info from Sun-Goals page but the Bolton News sprays the cold water.

We average 12 shots a game but only 3.66 are on target. That is downright awful, and whether blame can be put on the defence for letting goals in or not we can be sure that the bigger problems are up top, and it's not for a lack of opportunity.

As a comparison I'll do the same for the league leaders Hull and see what we find...

In Hull's 15 league games so far they've attempted more shots than us (215 to our 181), but their percentage of those that are on target is only slightly higher at 34%. However, 10.7% of their total shots are goals compared to our meagre 5.5%. They average 14 shots a game and 4.8 on target, but crucially score 1.5 goals a game as well.
I know what you mean. It's quality rather than quantity. According to WhoScored Forest have the most shots per game in the division (16.2), we're 18th on 12.1, Sheff Weds are bottom on 11.1.

For shots on target, we're still 18th on 3.6. Reading are top on 5.1, MK Dons bottom on 3.1...

Van la Parra has agreed a loan move: http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/14 ... loan_move/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
However, Lennon’s chances of landing Liverpool’s Joao Teixeira look slim.

The Portuguese youngster has a handful of Championship clubs interested in his signature and is understood to have reservations about plunging himself into a relegation battle at the Macron Stadium.

A very knowledgable Wolves fan on Rajiv van la Parra:

"He's got plenty of pace and deep down he's a decent player, but lacks a brain really. We tried to sell him in August (after just a year) but move to Leeds collapsed and then Jackett tried and failed to get him back in the team. Think he was our second top assister last season, though."

You can't expect brains with the lack of cash we've got.

I don't think brains are a prerequisite. Take Wayne Rooney. Thick as, yet half decent footballer. In fact, I dare say there are significantly more thickos making a good living from football than there are brain boxes.

I think he was referring to a footballing brain :P Which Rooney has.

Perhaps he means a "football brain". Like the perceived notion that Theo Walcott doesn't really have one and is a glorified sprinter.

No, he means he actually lacks a brain. There's just a stump on top of his medulla oblongata.

Course he means football brains, we aren't hiring for feckin' pub quiz...

It's not an image which needs explaining though, is it !?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".
