Could one of these be at the Reebok soon..?

As for the crocks, I'm all in favour of picking up the odd one, if the deal is right (ie pay-as-you-play) etc etc etc. Its worth the risk if it suits us.
Agree with all of this, Lord! The one crock I'd love to see is Michael Owen. There's no doubting his talent, it's just whether he'd accept a lower basic and a high pay-as-you-play / goal bonus
I knew someone had to say it.

Michael Owen!

FFS.

And before someone comes along to tell me how many goals he's scored this year, I don't care. I've seen him play for 30-40 minutes and you barely know he's there. Yes he's good for a goal if you create a chance.

But so is Klasnic, and we can't carry him in the side which is why he doesn't play.

Owen is finished as a regular at the top level IMO and might be a good sub for a side that needs their own Klasnic/Kevin Phillips etc but we don't.
You just cannot compare Owen to Phillips or Klasnic. That's ridiculous. Owen needs a regular run and he'll be a fantastic player for us. Klasnic is one of the biggest luxury players we've had in years. I'd have Owen over him ANY day!
Why can't you compare them? Because Owen was good in the past?

He's got no pace, isn't a target, won't hold the ball up that well and doesn't have the energy to charge round for 90 minutes. I don't see how he's any different to Klasnic.

Owen isn't comparable to the likes of Youri, Campo etc who we signed at similar stages of their career. For me Owen has always been about pace and finishing. Without pace he still has a good eye for goal. But thats not enough for us.

Not by a long shot.

Owen is a much better player than Klasnic, even now. Higher calibre of player and one that we'd be lucky to have. He's a goalscorer and also puts in a lot more effort than Klasnic.

He's still quicker than any of our strikers, with the exception of Sturridge, who isn't ours anyway

Much better predator than anyone we have too, apart from Sturridge...who isn't ours anyway (as Boris says)

David Bellion - yeay! Maybe Eric Djemba Djemba, too. They both have experience playing for the biggest club on Earth! Hey, what's Russell Beardsmore up to?

I hope you aren't suggesting that Michael Owen is in the same bracket as those two?? :|

Reo-Feckin'-Coker! Nasty, billy big balls, who's failed to make an impression at any club since he was 19, except for all the trouble he causes.
