Re: Season ticket 2012 thread
Arsenal have a tiered membership system for buying tickets, Red, Silver, Gold (season ticket) and platinum. I am only a lowly red member at the moment so i get priority tickets after the other memberships. Tickets never go on general sale unless its for a cup match so if you want to go to a game you have to be a member. My friend owns 2 season tickets and most of the matches i go to have been on one of her tickets or in the Bolton end with thebish so i don't know whether i will renew my red membership as have not used it much and can't see me getting to lots of games next season with the little ones.
Ticket prices (inc season tickets) have been frozen several years but the fans are unsurprisingly unhappy about them now going up again, especially given we have won sod all yet again this season, i suspect many will give them up, what with the ridiculous cost of them anyway, but the club won't care there are many more prawn sandwich munchers on the waiting list to take their place...

qualifying is more than one game isn't it? not sure how it works to be honest... so not sure how GG tots it up to "at least" 4 home games if they have to qualify...superjohnmcginlay wrote:What if you lose the qualifier?

I don't know! I guess the club just hope and pray we get plenty of home ties in the domestic cups! Good point actually, i'd be curious to know exactly how it works (not that i'm getting a season ticket myself, just interested...)superjohnmcginlay wrote:What if you lose the qualifier?

Re: Season ticket 2012 thread
Not in this case. Fourth-placed English team is no longer directly into the groups but only gets involved in the fourth (final) qualifiers, aka "the play-off round". Winners go through to UCL groups, losers to Europa groups.thebish wrote:qualifying is more than one game isn't it? not sure how it works to be honest... so not sure how GG tots it up to "at least" 4 home games if they have to qualify...superjohnmcginlay wrote:What if you lose the qualifier?
Amusingly, in a dark way, the qualifiers are split into two groups called "champions" and "non-champions". So that's non-champions having a two-legged cup tie to enter the Champions (sic) League (sic).

Re: Season ticket 2012 thread
Just as a minor aside, anyone get the season ticket leaflet through the post this week? The picture of the fans on it features yours truly, the younger bloke on the right
and the bespectacled bloke on the left is TrueWhite senior!

Re: Season ticket 2012 thread
then - it depends what the actual t&cs say... (and i doubt it specifies the number of cup games)Bruce Rioja wrote:Aaaaaaaaand we're right back to my question. So basically it's a big fooking rip off whichever way you look at it. Oi! Arsenal bird. Stop polluting this bit of the board.

Re: Season ticket 2012 thread
I turned 21 2 months back - problem is, I ordered mine online last season, and I think they've now, because of that, got a record of my DOB...which means my season ticket will be bumped up £100...ChrisC wrote:superjohnmcginlay wrote:So basically it's a big fooking rip off whichever way you look at it. So i ask againdoes anybody know how strict the club is on age for season tickets? the other halfs brother wants to come along next season with me and has asked me to sort the season ticket. He turns 21 this month. Would obviously rather pay for under 21 if they don't check ID etc..
Will I still be going? Damn right I will.
Re: Season ticket 2012 thread
My online shows my DOB etc.. and i pay adult being 25 but if i am adding another ticket to my order is doesn't mean everyone i order for is the same age
He is a student and is trying to save some money

Re: Season ticket 2012 thread
A Leeds United season ticket holder I know had to renew before 28 February in order to get early payment discount. And he's paying £515. And that's for second division football.
Our season ticket prices are very reasonably priced - at £399 for West Stand Upper it's only £21 per game.

It's only pretty recently they've started giving a shit about checking people's tickets, they used to just let anyone through. Now they have a set of stewards outside a certain number of turnstiles at home games checking.
How stringent that is, or if they'll do that (or expand it) next season I've no idea. My guess is that they're looking for forty year old fat blokes trying to get in on a £49 kids ST. As far as I can tell, they don't actually check ID.
