When you score 12 odd goals in a season, yet still be described by your own fans as 'having no impact' then that tells you all you need to know. He'll be fine in a team where he needs to do nothing else than goal-hang, but should he be needed to track back or suchlike, then he's fu cked.

I've been doing that for 15 years with my Under 11s top scorer trophyboltonboris wrote:So he mooches about in his training gear incase people forget he's actually a footballer? I can see why to be honest....

Re: Would you have Nolan back?
He's having a medical at West Ham. Genuinely surprising. The contract jockeying was for real and obviously Allardyce is a big draw but surely he could've moved to another Prem club if he'd held on. Well well.

Indeed it does. Bolton fans are as thick as pig shitLofthouse Lower wrote:When you score 12 odd goals in a season, yet still be described by your own fans as 'having no impact' then that tells you all you need to know. Not all deluded then.Toonatastic wrote wrote:I think last season he had a purple patch (in terms of goalscoring) he's unlikely to repeat and I think he's limited as a player.

Re: Would you have Nolan back?
Aye - what it tells me is that he scored as many in the Prem last season as any Bolton player has managed ever.Lofthouse Lower wrote:When you score 12 odd goals in a season, yet still be described by your own fans as 'having no impact' then that tells you all you need to know. On what planet goals have no impact is a complete mystery.
I'll have any midfielder who can put 12 in, in a season. Might make up for some of our can't score forwards who allegedly get in for all the other things they do....

True - but also cannot be looked at in isolation. If you are not doing a job in midfield and consequently your team is overrun in that area your overall contribution may not be as good as the goal tally suggests.Worthy4England wrote:Aye - what it tells me is that he scored as many in the Prem last season as any Bolton player has managed ever.Lofthouse Lower wrote:When you score 12 odd goals in a season, yet still be described by your own fans as 'having no impact' then that tells you all you need to know. Twas always the case with the XXXL one.
Re: Would you have Nolan back?
As proved by the tonking they got at 'Bok. The only tracking back he did that day was to moan at ref for Colocini getting his marching orders and rough up ElmoWandering Willy wrote:True - but also cannot be looked at in isolation. Re: Would you have Nolan back?
With Joey Barton having been told he will not be offered a new contract and José Enrique failing to respond to his latest offer, the Newcastle manager Alan Pardew could yet lose all three of the players he had hoped to tie down before starting his recruitment work in earnest.
Barton reacted angrily to the news via Twitter, suggesting that he, Enrique and Jonás Gutiérrez would be next to go: "Great player, leader, captain, person, trainer and mostly a friend for life. Devastated to see him SOLD! #mejoseandjonasnext."

Looks like they got Faye too...Worthy4England wrote:Apparently (allegedly?) Spam have had a bid turned down for Nobby.

Bring on Campo!!!!!
And no to Nolan. We sold him go for a reason, remember? Does anyone remember the form he was in when he left? Perhaps he could perform better under OC, but at that cost, not a risk I'd be willing to take.
Re: Would you have Nolan back?
Spammers taking a big risk though on these players as they won't be cheap, I can't believe I'm going to say this but what about Joey?
