Not for me. Don't need his wages, and he's bollocks in a 4-4-2.

The more I think about it, the more I think that if he is properly fit and could be secured without breaking the bank, that McFadden might be worth a go. He might have a bit of the "Kevin Davies" about him where he could in his late twenties re-invent himself a bit. Could play on the left or up front.

Very much doubt we'll go for him but I think he's the sort of player who might respond well to OC's ways!

I know it was reported that there was a relegation clause in his contract but, it being Wet Spam notwithstanding, THIS is the sort of thing you'd be pissed about as a fan.

Signed, injured pre-season, missed more than half the season, then demands to be released quick sticks when relegated.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

I did suggest McFadden before and I don't think many went for the idea. Still think it might be worth a go though

Well, it's obviously time to panic, especially in BWFCi's world...

Odd with McFadden, he used to be quite some player but has dropped off the radar. There isn't even much transfer tittle-tattle about him, just some half-arsed and quickly denied links to Celtic and Rangers. Cynics will say there's a reason for this, but like BWFCi says he's adaptable, and certainly a Premier-class squad member. Anterior cruciate ligament injury (same as Holden, and Gardner back in the day - as I understand it, his more recent woes have been muscular) is a bad knock but not insurmountable, as proven by several players (Shearer, Gazza, Van Nistelrooy, Pires, Ronaldo). McFadden's just turned 28 and would be a potentially very good freebie if his wages fit.

It's the adaptability that is the selling point, Coyle likes players who can play in a multitude of possitions for the team. Keeps the wage bill down
