I'm not as old as you though Worthy! My old man reckons the one failing of Greaves was that he allowed a squad to get old together. Though, if you listened to him, you'd think that the late seventies pissed all over Allardyce's tenure. Thats life, as they say.

Still, I do believe that we're as much victim of circumstance as bad management.

I probably wasn't quite old enough to really understand players getting too old. :-)

I certainly enjoyed the watching the team of the 70's more than the team of the noughties. Even when we were finishing top half, I always used to say 17th or better was a good finish for us. I'm not oblivious to the money or injury situation, but really don't think in comparison to other teams, I would have expected us to be this poor, this season. I thought that when we got relegated, it would be a close run thing in 18th, with some fight and a modicum of organisation.
