Useless thing would probably follow Ryo and stand on the outside of the post.TANGODANCER wrote:If we ever play Zat Knight again, just stick him on the goal-line with the keeper. It'll dispense with offsides but he might get in the way of a shot or two.

I just hope we're 4-5-1 because a draw here wouldn't be an outright disaster. Our ability to waste possession in 4-4-2 could spell defeat and a mountain to climb.

This is the important part. Whether you're playing Barcelona or Swansea a team that likes to dominate possession will become impatient and lose faith if they come up against an organised defence.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Swansea will probably dominate possession. This should not provoke cat-calls and claims that Bolton players don't care as much as those lovable heroes at Blackburn and (this week) Wigan: "get into 'em and f*ck 'em up" doesn't work if they pass round you and score. Calmness, diligence and discipline are needed, from players and fans.

Ream, Ricketts or Steinsson might make better sense except for the fact that we kinda need them in defence. Is Riley fit? Anybody know anything about Josh Vela?
My point about Knight is he's an athlete, and, like Campo, stick him as a midfield stopper and you won't have to worry so much about his gaffes. Of course, unlike Campo, he can't drop a forty yard pass on a peseto.
Okay. Make that a euro. [*Feels old.]

Thanks. That's finally answered the question 20-odd thousand Wanderers fans have been asking all season - what is Pratley?!Jez wrote:lets play pratley in centre mid because hes a centre mid

ps Have you tried telling this to Pratley? Just a thought. It might help him. Something has to. Surely?

Re: Wanderers v Swans
This is going to be my eldests first visit to the Reebok.
He's eight in a couple of weeks and although I've thought about bringing him down before I always find young kids at matches a pain in the arse to be honest with you.
My first ever game at Burnden was v West Ham in 1979 (Brooking, Cowans, Lampard) the season they won the FA Cup and blew away Division 2.
Needless to say we lost.
I will not accept this for my son's first visit to the see the Wanderers.
Let's put an end to this silliness and get back to winning ways.
Don't let him down like you let me down all those years ago.

I think Josh Vela could feature in Saturdays match
The gave him 70 mins in the reserves last night, and i'd like to see him on the bench again, if not in the team. Keep hearing good things about him maybe its time he had a crack

Yeah, let's chuck in an unproven kid, whilst you deride our most consistent performer, who will undoubtedly win Player of the Year by a country mile!HM Murdock wrote:I think Josh Vela could feature in Saturdays match

He's seen that already don't worry.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:TC, is he ready to see his dad in all sorts of mental anguish?
A mate of mine talked me into going to watch St Mirren last year and we went in the family stand with him and his son.
There's a guy (who's there every week) who stands at the front and bombards his own team, especially their goalie with a torrent of foul mouthed abuse from warm-up to final whistle.
His young son is clearly ashamed of his dad's behaviour and sits motionless with his head down while his dad conducts a one man tirade against the Buddies and all they stand for.
After about an hour of this we noticed that the young lad had started to cry, at the same moment the guy turns and also spots his lad in tears.
'See Smith (or whatever the goalie was called) You're that f**king s**t you've made my f**kin' son cry!'
Brilliant.

They are all unproven until they get a chance though
If NRC wins player of the year, then its a sorry state of affairs. He is average at best, i'm sorry but i just dont rate him.

You can argue the toss over whether NRC is "average" or not (though I'm not sure what you are comparing him to) but I don't think there is much doubt that he's been far and away our best and most consistent midfield player this season.HM Murdock wrote:boltonboris wrote:Yeah, let's chuck in an unproven kid, whilst you deride our most consistent performer, who will undoubtedly win Player of the Year by a country mile!HM Murdock wrote:I think Josh Vela could feature in Saturdays match
