Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Nelsen was good enough for Spurs so he'd probably be good enough for us. But Spurs can afford to carry an injury prone player on their books. We can't.

Don't underestimate us. We carried about 6 last year & only went down in the very final minute !

We do need to build a good, young team and then when we come to sell players on, replace them with another young player. It's the only way we can feasibly remain in the Premier League given the spending power of other clubs compared to us. Of course, we have to get there first which will be tricky but I'm optimistic about our future and I'm glad we're going in the right direction.
Coyle taking the club in the right direction? We're worse off in every way since he took over!

Worse league
Worse football
Worse players
Worse tactics
Worse team selection
Worse organisation and discipline
Worse fitness levels
Worse team spirit

I haven't figured out what this visionary 'Coyle Project' is yet, but it's produced ugly results so far. I don't see the basis for the loyalty we're showing him. He's all talk. His only (dubious) accomplishment may be to 'detoxify' the BWFC footballing brand. We're now officially a 'nice' club, politely rolling over without so much as a blocked goalkeeper or long throw.

“We’re building an exciting young team and in that respect, we’re actually better placed than we were last year,” he said. “From the team that would have finished eighth over the last 11 games, there’s only Nigel Reo-Coker that had played consistently that has left.
Gosh there must be a lot of straws in Horwich

I spoke with Wheater this morning at Piccadilly station, he was on the way to see the surgeon and he was extremely pleasant. Apologised for being in a rush and as I wished him well on the recovery he said thanks. He said it's likely he'll be out for 7 months and 2 months recovery time. I'll post the picture when I figure out how to get it off me phone
Pfffft.

This thread has depressed the living shit out of me.

People singing the praises of Keith Andrews and others sat waiting hoping Zat Knight will sign a new deal?

This is a low point for BWFC.

Aye, but keeping in mind it's now Championship Bolton, not Barclays Premier League Bolton.

Knight is clearly a talented player. However he does have the odd lapse in concentration. It's hardly surprising seeing how much work the defence had to do last year. Hopefully we'll be spending a lot more time up the other end of the pitch so this won't be much of an issue anymore.

Love Gudni, but he doesn't seem to be saying anything that Coyle and Reo-Coker haven't also said.
