Think it's Nixon (I know, I know) who said that, and seems to think we have a chance of signing him.

Doesn't it all stem from rumours of him being home sick and wanting to return to the north west? Even if Clarke rates him it won't stop him from wanting to leave.

His recent performances and goals might be causing a few chins to be stroked at West Brom.

Homesickness isnt his problem ,it was not playing games .The 2 centre backs at the baggies are playing well but they are getting older ,Dawson is a steal from us at 600k so whoever he goes to next hopefully will be a top prem club with shed loads in the bank so dale can pick up their 25% sell on fee.
By the way did anybody take up the first/last/anytime goalscorer tip, plenty of Dale fans did .

Do you know him personally?

Seems that all Rochdale fans know everything there is to know about him.

PLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEE Phil, Dougie, Eddie... everyone! SIGN HIM UP!

Have rated Dawson for a long time, don't understand West Brom's reticence on him, but don't care if it means we get him for keeps.

Hi Trotters, Baggies fan in peace. I keep reading posts about Daws that suggest Albion do not rate him. That is most definitely not the case. He is extremely well thought of. He has simply been really unlucky with the form of Olsson and Mcauley. I don't think anybody at Albion thought that big Gareth would have taken to Premiership football in the way he has and the coaching staff probably expected Daws to be a first team regular by now. But you simply cannot break up such a good center half pairing so Craig has had to wait hence the need to get him out on loan for game time. Albion have a crop of highly rated youngsters coming through and most of them are out on loan at the moment. I really don't think there is any chance of us letting Daws go. In my opinion having watched his England U21s games he is one of the best center halves in the country and he and Caulker will be pushing the likes of Cahill etc for full England caps before too long.

Again, all that won't matter if the rumours of him wanting back in the north west are true.

Personally, I don't see how you can be homesick when it's barely a two hour drive but you never know.

We can only hope that your Baggies make a mistake and let him come to us permanently! haha

I really rate him too, and think he should really be in and around the England setup by now, but as you say he's got 2 CB's ahead of him playing excellently, hence being loaned out to Bolton.

They would spot that immediately as there is a mahoosive give-away ..... one's shite at defending, the other isn't !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Knight isn't great, he makes mistakes.

But Dawson aside he's been our best defender this season by some way.

It might not be saying much but some of the stick he gets is a bit ott IMO.
