Re: Season Tickets 2014/2015
I know I was there with you luckily most behind us stood so I did manage to do a sort of standing thing for most of the game. I think standing and seating areas would be absolutely brilliant as I would be blind to think that some people who attended football matches such as your father didn't need to sit, If the government just ignore the Scouse c**ts (as they have done throughout history thankfully) then we will soon find ourselves in a situation where those that want to stand can stand and those that want to sit can sit which would be nothing short of brilliant for everyone visiting football and would improve the atmosphere greatly and ensure that those who don't like sitting/standing are no longer put off by modern football.LeverEnd wrote:Depends where you go, a lot have given up the ghost with away fans. It's totally unfair, many want to stand but to do so is very unfair to those who struggle. Went to Wigan with my dad, who is pushing 70 and undergoing chemotherapy. He needs to sit and would love to see the return of standing areas for that reason. When politicians stop listening to emotional arguments based on past events and start listening to reason from a big majority of fans it will happen very soon I think. Clubs will also push for it because like Dan says a lack of atmosphere coupled with TV exposure is killing the game and this will help get it back.

There was much made, at the time the Reebok was built, about the legroom in all seats being very generous compared not just to historical errors like ye olde Wembley but also the more sardine-tin newer grounds (IIRC Sunderland and Boro were poor examples). A lot of clubs building new stadia opted for quantity over quality of seat; looks like we hit the right balance...

This is indeed true, I go supping with the architect that designed it.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:There was much made, at the time the Reebok was built, about the legroom in all seats being very generous compared not just to historical errors like ye olde Wembley but also the more sardine-tin newer grounds (IIRC Sunderland and Boro were poor examples). Wasn't/isn't there some minimum requirement in the building regs regarding legroom which we chose to go beyond?Worthy4England wrote:This is indeed true, I go supping with the architect that designed it.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:There was much made, at the time the Reebok was built, about the legroom in all seats being very generous compared not just to historical errors like ye olde Wembley but also the more sardine-tin newer grounds (IIRC Sunderland and Boro were poor examples). I'd usually switched off by that point, to work out who's round it was next, but I believe so. It was a "thought through" design decision.Bruce Rioja wrote:Wasn't/isn't there some minimum requirement in the building regs regarding legroom which we chose to go beyond?Worthy4England wrote:This is indeed true, I go supping with the architect that designed it.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:There was much made, at the time the Reebok was built, about the legroom in all seats being very generous compared not just to historical errors like ye olde Wembley but also the more sardine-tin newer grounds (IIRC Sunderland and Boro were poor examples). I think we have an excellent stadium in regards to leg room and viewing the pitch.

I do sometimes feel they face the wrong way, though.

I got a letter today confirming what my direct debit renewal arrangements would be ... which is interesting as I've never done DD for the season ticket.
I have a couple of weeks to confirm, apparently.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I'm renewing. Club needs it's fans.
Re: Season Tickets 2014/2015
Also got my DD-renewal/schedule letter.
Only seen the detail and brochure online, perhaps they'll only be sending it out to people without auto-renewal debit schemes

For those of us paying by DD for our current ST (10 payment option) when do we make our final payment?
