Trying to convince everyone at sixth form that Olafur Snorrasson was going to be the new Eidur!

At Wembley about 10 minutes before kick-off.

:hang:

In an Amsterdam bar with William the White on that day. We insisted the barman put the match on the TV, showing him our scarves as proof of our affiliation. A few minutes in he asked in a sympathetic voice:

"So. This team in white, they're your team?"

I was excited when we signed Elmander.

I also thought Steinsson was going to become a cult hero.

I thought we'd be OK after Allardyce left.

Nicolas Anelka signing for Bolton. I though't he'd buy a flat cap and a whippet and be a regular in Bob's Smithy. It wasn't about money, he loved us...... :(

Excellent. .... did you, as St. Peter in the Garden of Gethsemane, deny them 3 times ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

I thought LeverEnd could be trusted to title a match thread!

but i'm kinda glad that worked out , but he's talked smack about bwfc since leaving, so he's kinda on my #burfday list with kevin, but he's not gone full 'birthday princess' about it like davies did. He's only mentioned it once or twice.
+1 I was there and was certain he would never get back up
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

I still maintain Megson is a better manager than Coyle.

Coyle better than Freedman, is a slightly harder one. Tallest dwarf etc.

My main one is holding out on Chung Yong Lee finding form again. Wavering toward "I was wrong" on that score, then I remember that header in the semi-final.

I saw we'd signed Kevin Davies on a free and thought it was our shittest signing ever.

I believed David Ginola when he said on MoTD that under Coyle, "Bolton Wanderers could get into the Champions League" :?

Surely Steinsson was a cult hero. Or am I having trouble with my consonants again? :?

'Twas a bit hard to do that:

1) Because we'd stopped off at this bar three days running, just to check they were definitely going to show our match.
2) The scarves were a bit of a giveaway.

Count me in with the people who thought Kevin Davies was a fat waste of space who wouldn't play five league games.

On the flip side, signings who I thought were going to be brilliant include such luminaries as Liam Trotter, Mikel Alonso, Michael Bridges, Julio Cesar, Idan Tal...

I thought Fabian DeFreitas would rip up trees in the premiership.

He just ended up looking like a tree.
What a hero, What a man...... Ooooh, what a bad foul...

Apparently they couldn't get the ball off of him in training. Still, cometh the hour and all of that............ :)

He didn't do much worse that season than anyone else. Was a threat at times in a poor team.

Had some sort of weird muscle wasting illness just after he joined. Not sure he ever really got to top form again.

Similairly, after going 2-0 down I convinced my daughter to stay positive, as we had come from 2-0 down before at Wembley............ :?

To her credit she did stay positive and, even at 5-0 said she didn't want to leave before the final whistle because 'you never know, Dad'

Brings a lump to the throat.
