Rumour of a takeover?

Re: Rumour of a takeover?
Whether there are workarounds or not I don't know, but Paris St Germain were fined for their shirt sponsorship deal and Forest expect a fine some time soon.officer_dibble wrote:There is all sorts they can do i guess. Like shirt sponsership, pay for catering costs, sub the hotel. Forest seem to have got round ffp.
Be interested to see how much of this relates to keeping hold of assetts like land, hotel, training ground etc.
Wonder where phil stands as well? Replaced?
I guess it come down to whether or not the owners are prepared to pay the penalty in exchange for a better chance of winning?

Re: Rumour of a takeover?
Wasn't Citeh's picked up on because they were paid a ridiculous amount of money, which was way over the going rate and a blatant attempt to beat the FFP regs? I may have just made this up btw!boltonboris wrote:My thoughts exactly..Bijou Bob wrote:If the Thais come in and offer a Huuuge shirt sponsorship deal or buy the hotel, doesn't this count as income under FFP? Sure Citeh did something similar.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Yes - they have the concept of Fair Market Value (FMV) now in the FFP "rulebook"...thebish wrote:so - the boffins in charge of FFP are aware of this workaround...

He's redeemed himself somewhat with the appointment of lennon but still made a fair few mistakes. I won't be in mourning if (when) he goes but careful what you wish for and that.

Sponsor (linked to Etihad) ... "So, how much are your running costs ?"
Citeh ... "Oh, about £150m a year"
Sponsor ... "Will a cheque do ?"
The FA told them to feck off.
FA ... "Feck off".

Re: Rumour of a takeover?
I wonder how that works. Clearly they can't tell them what the limit is, and also clearly Man City were taking the piss, but there must be a point to which they can ease it above what they could otherwise get. Give it a few years of everyone doing that...
