It's not all about ability. In his case he was one diving, sulking, idle nice person who disliked us as much as we disliked him.

Simon Grayson, his manager at Leeds and now Preston obviously knows how to get the best out of him. Pity we didn't/haven't got someone who could do the same. A 20 goal a season striker is worth a kings ransom.
Expect him to come back against us next year and score the winner!

Nah, once he's got a shiny new contract and we've paid him off, he'll go back to not being arsed, collecting his wages whilst doing Feck all. It's the story of his career.

No need to pay him off surely as his contract ends the end of next month, unless he has a pay off clause in his contract which wouldn't surprise anyone. We are so good at giving exorbitant contracts!!

He's Gareth Farrelly one level lower. Good player in league 1, not good enough for the champo.

He moved to Everton on allegedly huge money, did Feck all. The same story at Leicester, same at our place. I predict similar at his next club, but please feel free to try and convince me he's the real deal Caps.

In my opinion he did feck all at our place cos successive managers couldnot set the team up to get him scoring goals. Did he play with clough? Clayton? Nope. Feeney and Darren Pratley! I also think he burnt his bridges with the mongy element of our fans at leeds and his performances after that stunk a bit of knowing whatever he did he wouldn't be liked...not the exemplar attitude ok but far from not trying. I'm sure in the norwich game he looked disinterested and thats what lennon thought as well. Grayson knows how to manage him thats a definite.

He was rarely played in a front two, where I think he's best, but come on. He had plenty of opportunities to prove himself. Lennon in particular was really patient with him. Just one of those situations - right player, wrong club/wrong time. We move on.

Didn't Beckford score against us for Everton from the touchline, near the end to get them a draw. Here it is...

Just proves that anyone who can score against us can get a contract :)
