They're talking about strengthening their squad in the January transfer window. Show offsBurnden Paddock wrote:They seem confident, probably with good reason. They're also quoting some of you lot!

Are you taking the piss? Eastleigh is where I used to have to drive to, only to be told by some nice person called Julian dressed in an open-necked, striped shirt and a V-neck pullover, that they were having copies of our kit knocked up for a fraction of the price in the far east!thebish wrote:where even IS Eastleigh?

It'll be a good test for our players to show them what standard they're at.
Re: FA Cup Draw
As Southampton are drawn at home to Palace, this could be a fri night/ sun/ mon night fixture. Grrrrrr
The ground, (last time I was there); has one and a half stands. Our allocation will probably be for one of the patches of grass behind a goal.

Gretna counts. Tried to lose that. Yeovil I think at the reebok.

Sutton Coldfield at Burnden when they had an ageing Barry Cowdrill playing for them. We won 2-1.
A little bit before my time we played either Boston or Bangor in the early 70s. 3-0 win I think

Aye, I remember it well, it was 1964 and Jane Austen was their physio.bw@bw wrote:Bath city for those of a certain (advanced) age.

I'll never forget the return of Bazza.
I was at that Gretna game too, paved the way way for a great run but could have been very different.

Re: FA Cup Draw
We beat Barrow 1-0 in the 4th round at Burnden (89 ish?). A Philliskirk header at the back post. Worryingly, despite not losing to a non league side, many of those wins were by a narrow margin.

Re: FA Cup Draw
Aye! I fear for that record times have changed with much of non league a good deal more professional now in set up and spending.. This has 'new depths of misery' written all over it and the present administration show all the hallmarks of possessing the ability to sink to any challenge. If you could get odds of 2 to 1 or better on Eastleigh you'd be daft not to consider it.. Right now they look nailed on. Can't imagine a worse draw! I'd rather get gubbed 8 - 1 off City or someone.. This is the absolute lose lose.. we raise about 12 quid in gate receipts and potentially suffer the worst and most embarassing defeat in our history..Harry Genshaw wrote:We beat Barrow 1-0 in the 4th round at Burnden (89 ish?). Re: FA Cup Draw
I'm strangely looking forward to it. If we still exist.
Think I was at both Barrow and Barry. Clean forgotten. Maybe my mind was concentrating on away games. (Emley was at Leeds Road, disappointingly.)

Hope this gets moved from the Saturday so I can go! I never thought I'd see anything worse than that 7-1 at Reading.
Only 2 years later this could be it!
