Managers instructions to all teams playing against Bolton:" Attack from the kick off and go forward and shoot on every occasion, particularly during the last five minutes of any game. Bolton will crack." .....One over our bar inside the first minute.

Is he a porn actor or something?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Might be, but also the match sponsor on Tower Radio, so we'll let him off.

Boro unimpressive but you sense they have gears yet to go through.

And.....they thump it downfield....and....somebody thumps it back. Free kick them and....Wheater clears for a corner. And....Downing and...Ayala wallops a free header wide. Sounds like plenty Smog music from the fans. "Heskey's pace has gone!"...never, micman, never...Here they come....lose it, win it and......we get a goal kick. Game is "stale", says our enthusiastic commentator as......a Smog-shot sails over our bar.....

We're frightening them now, nearly got out of our half there and......Downing assaults our crossbar from thirty yards. "Shoot on sight lads, it's Bolton.....and Adoma gets foulded to give them another chance. Any chance of us having a shot? Heskey is limping.....and rubbing his ankle. Downing now and...(some body knocked on our door and the dog has a barking frenzy....such excitement.) Anyway....here they come again....we win an offside. wow.

" Bolton are like a treacle sponge going forward" ....says micman....how dare he... before we have a fizz of effort that draws a plaudit and then...we're offside. Heskey wins a free kick near Horwich and......Clough and....a bit of to and fro before Davis gets decked. We lose it, win it back and Mark Davies makes a "shocking " pass that ends with a Downing shot, a deflection and a corner them...we clear....Mark Davies gets chopped, a Smoggie gets a yellow. And.....

Sky guest Ian Holloway, who appears to have come dressed as the old BBC test card, makes the point that our midfield tactics have nullified Boro. I would expect Boro to change shape and leave us floundering. But yes, a promising performance from us.
