Re: So, this new manager...
Ta. That went online yesterday lunchtime but originally said that Steve Evans was still at Leeds, who sacked him on Tuesday afternoon (so I suspect it was lifted form Tuesday morning's paper). I think we can be fairly confident that an interview with someone was scheduled for yesterday, but beyond that we can't be sure - whether it happened, who it was, whether he knows shit from clay...TANGODANCER wrote:It's just this DSB?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Is that the actual paper, TD? Or the website, which sometimes puts things up a day later, so D-Day might have been yesterday and we missed it?TANGODANCER wrote:Today is D-Day says Bolton News, so we should know in the next 48 hours.

Standing on his drive shouting "Get fecked"?BWFC_Insane wrote:Nixon reckons we've made some contact with Evans....

I mean, he's not the nicest bloke in the world (you have to work hard to get a 10-match touchline ban). And it may well be that Boston's bungs bought that promotion. But what about the promotions his teams won in 2011, 2013 and 2014?
I take Bruce's point about the shoutiness. I'm not sure what his record is on youth development, and we need that. But I would hope those seeking to get the best possible manager would bear that in mind, and his record demands an interview; whether his personality precludes employment is a question I can't answer.
Re: So, this new manager...
Record demands consideration. Exactly. I hope it's him. Sod the personality. I want to see us win some fecking games.

I could have got Crawley promoted. Basically a kid playing football manager where you give a non-league team a premier league budget.
Fair play on Rotherham. Though he's still a prick. Adkins record I think better, and, even though he's scouse, he's far less objectionable.

Think that's three promotions in a week you're claiming. You wanna crack on with those badges, we could do with you at Bolton...Prufrock wrote:I could have got Crawley promoted.

Wouldn't be my personal choice, but I can certainly see the attraction of Evans to KA/DH - good promotion record and knows exactly what's needed to get out of the lower leagues.BWFC_Insane wrote:Nixon reckons we've made some contact with Evans....
I certainly wouldn't be against Evans if appointed.
