For me this setup isn’t working at all. We have no outlet. They drop into a low block and we have 5 defenders and two defensive mids. It’s not got enough outlet or attacking impetus. It’s why we look so uncertain on the ball because without Bradley there isn’t anyone to just carry the ball.

Anyone know what the minutes silence was for?

That looked like a pen early on for Charles...
Indonesian stadium tragedy I’d assume.
I would've thought so too.

Might as well have a minutes silence every week, certainly feels like it's become a staple of pre-game.
Isn't it the world's worst disaster at a football stadium? I think if 125 fan deaths isn't worth it then nothing will be.

The football on show here is dreadful by both teams.

Aimson really does struggle on the right of the three.

Long ball to no one most of the half.

Id change this now. Sadlier on. Go to a back four. Or just play the sort of wonky inverted 352 we did with Fossey and let Iredale play a little more defensively so a hybrid 352 433.

Dempsey is in to press high but they are just booting it forwards. This is a game for Sadlier or Dapo and a front 3 IMO

Agreed. The frequency is frustrating in that its become some what ritualistic, which is taking away some of the significance of it all.

I’m struggling a bit to see where our outlets are today.
We've been through really early on with Charles through the middle but aren't consistently creating play to open up the opposition.

We're missing Bradley and I would've thought that would've suited a Jones/Sadlier more than Aimson/Jones combination from an attacking viewpoint at least.

I've liked the work rate from Dempsey last match but I don't think a midfield of him, Thomason and MJ will open up the opposition. I get the impression our tactic today is shut up shop and then last on, after they've tired, open up more opportunities with the more potent Sheehan, Dapo, Sadlier.

A tricky away fixture on a narrow pitch against an outfit that makes good use of a long-throw specialist; I can understand why Evatt opted not to start his attacking wing-backs.

It might've been an opportunity to start in a 4-3-3 instead, though.

Finally, an overlap got us space to get the ball in.

Nice move from us and probably should’ve got something better off than GT on his right foot.

I get it. I don’t want us to be lightweight and fail to earn the right to play. I think we are too much the other way here though.

Not impressed with Iredale
I’d sub him for sadlier and go 433 with Johnston left back

Jack Iredale having a bit of a nightmare against their lad on the right.

He gave Jack a 4 yard head start and still got round and crossed it in.

Sad to see that Dempsey was shot shy in that build up. Would've thought a bit quicker and he could've got a shot away, instead Thomason's shanked it somewhat.

Looking a bit disjointed. Maybe the height of Bakayoko might be somewhere we get some end product here. Doesn't look like we're going to get many chances via our wide men.

Let’s be honest. This is abysmal now. Evatt really has to change it now. Don’t wait till half time.

Aimson’s distribution is quite something.

He’s not a right sided centre back in this system. That’s for sure.
