Thomason is on a different level at the minute. If the rest could catch up that would be nice.

Doesn't seem like it's getting any better under Evatt, does it?

He’s miles above the rest and has been for a while. By a distance he’s our best player and it’s not close. I think he and Matete could be very good but fear this system needs ripping up and soon.

He's always been a decent striker needing 3 chances. The difference is we've surrounded him with quality rather than him standing out as the main man.
Got a bit of Richard Dunne about him. Decent player, but prone to moments of madness.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 3:23 pmSantos is overrated. People keep banging on as though he’s the best in the league. He isn’t on many levels and the biggest issue is he lacks the drive - it’s what’s between the ears.
A highlights reel could easily be made of Santos' mistakes. Quite a surprise given the four team of the season's he's acquired.

My summation of this is - we carry very little threat and defensively are all over the place. That’s not a good place to be. I hope Evatt changes the system at half time and finds some outlets because without outlets we won’t get anywhere.

They’ll score again this half. Nathan Jones has done his homework, pound shop pep won’t change it.

Not sure I agree with your wording, its not clinical up top and sloppy at the back. That may be saying the same thing, but I don't see it as not carrying a threat, more we're not doing enough once we get into threatening areas.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 3:32 pmMy summation of this is - we carry very little threat and defensively are all over the place. I've got a sinking feeling this is going to end up as another Charlton 1-0. They've got the habit of keeping the goals down and we gave them a freebie.

Gifting possession and goals. Game is hard enough.

Eoin Toal is a fecking league one defender. Why does Evatt try to make him play like Beckanbauer? He’s lost the ball with his passes more than he’s found a white shirt. His stubbornness will be his undoing.

"Too many loose passes John"
No shit Sherlock.

Honestly Charles offers basically nothing other than pressing hard.

Giving the ball away with foul throws now. New one.

This lot aren’t great but they are organised into system that suits their talents. Our players are better than theirs but our system isn’t.

Anyone else getting the impression we've only got two in midfield. We've got so many players out wide, Schon, Collins, McAtee, JDC, that we're seemingly left with just the two in midfield.
It's two vs four in the centre of the park with Sheehan and Thomason having to do the leg work.
Can we sacrifice one up top for another in the mid? Surely getting McAtee more central might solidify things in the middle.
McAtee's throw in off their player... nothing wrong with that ref and yet foul throw

Just looking at the Santos error, is he trying an outside of the boot pass to Toal?
Will be 2-0 before half time this.

The system is simply not working. It hasn’t in any game. Sheehan can’t play in it. Not suiting Dion. Mcatee and Collins look lost. A semi capable manager would change it at half time.
