Is he left footed?! That was an incredible hit, inches away from his hat trick.

That disallowed goal looked fine to me. Ball hit across but not forward

He's played on by their defender too.

The linesman is in no position to call it as he's on the fecking corner flag.

On to the new year.

Good result. Didn't expect it, didn't expect Johnno and Toal back in the side.

Matete MOTM by a country mile. Assist and two goals. Unlucky to not get a third too.

I think he gave it for the first header that hit Tomo maybe?

We'd be fine if we could just play ten every week.

Efficient in the end. Hopefully the start of a run. They looked utterly without confidence in that first half.

Aye. That's the thing. Two tough aways now. Could be entrenched in the playoffs or bottom half by the end of next week.

It's a tough job keeping up with the pace of play, but it's not difficult to stop before you go too far. Poor linesman job that.

It's one of those scores/results which should give us momentum but I fear it won't.

He's had tougher opponents admittedly, but flawless again from Santos - think he won every duel today.

Imagine how he would play if he was any good!!!

Good result. Poor first half from both teams lighted up by Collins quality goal which we know he is very capable of doing. We had a lot of pedestrian possession but little penetration. Played against 10 in the second half and happy we never backed off but took advantage of this. Matete now a goal scorer!! almost a hattrick. Thats a big improvement from him. MOtM performance followed by Santos and Collins.

Evatt continues to play Russian Roulette with not having Southwood on the bench, especially as we know that Baxter is brittle. I have no idea why he continues to do this.. to put Arfield on the team's gamesheet?? One day it will bite him, and he will be slaughtered by us if and when it backfires. He needs to stop this. A comfortable evening and moving up the table.

Happy with that. Lots of the same problems for us but if they have players daft enough to get themselves sent off for gobbing off twice, they deserve to get well beaten.

Hopefully it means we take some confidence into those next two tricky away games.

Only three pages for our most comfortable win of the season so far? Quelle surprise.

1st half we were pretty poor. Pedestrian, lacking imagination, lacking initiative. It's football by numbers - players anchored to their positions, afraid to do something different. But then Collins does what he does and attempts the improbable. After we went ahead, there was so much more freedom to our game. Players were trying different things and weren't afraid to take risks.

2nd half was helped massively by their bone head getting himself sent off. But you can only beat what's in front of you, and it was important that we beat Lincoln well today. We did that.

No questions have been answered, as we simply don't know how things would have gone had Lincoln finished with 11. But a win is a win. Happy today.

That was a 2-0 win against 11 for me. Lincoln dangerous on the break and dogged in defence, but nothing special. I hate these v ten men games as they take the edge off victories. Welcome points, yes, without doubt, but not ideal. Their hatchet man's behaviour was absolutely stupid in a professional footballer and I'd be telling him that if I was his manager. That said, there were some very decent performances from The Whites amongst the bad passes and careless give-aways. Schon has made a real difference at the back and we have the makings of a good side.

Toal looked weak and off the pace but is just maybe a little rusty and our finishing was less than perfect (we had four opportunities to shoot in one attack and chose tippy-tappy that lost the ball) , but all that that will be remembered is Bolton 3, Lincoln 0, and that's what counts. :oyea:

That was alright. Collins looked better today. Lolos is inventive and confident. Matete looked like himself. Plenty to like.

It was a genuinely fun game to watch and we all needed that.

The result is mostly about confidence for a run of 3(4) aways in a row.

6 points is the requirement from the 3 league games coming up.

McAtee needs a goal, but is doing a lot of the right things to get one. Thommo is still working hard, but clearly out of sorts. Schon has loads going for him and needs to find that end product to be a good player for us. Those three "coming good" will probably be linked. They combine a lot and once the end product improves from Schon and Thommo McAtee will score. McAtee scoring will boost the confidence of the other two. It was fine margins today that stopped them combining for a couple of goals.
