Certainly looks like it. Tutu and Schon as orthodox wingers. Randall off McAtee.

That formation could be anything. Literally anything.

Well, I only see one striker, and he's largely been played at 10 or even 8 by Evatt... but yeah, looks to me like 4231 or 433. Cogs-Toal-Foz-Murphy as the back four, McAtee up top with Schon and Tutu wide; then either Sheehan and Morley sat behind Randall at 10, or Sheehan at 6 behind Morley/Randall as 8s.
Well now...

Well it couldn't be a balloon wearing a bandana eating a banana, but yes, we have flexible players so there's that.
It could be a back three of Toal-Forrester-Murphy, because we've then got three "wingbacks" in the XI - so say JDC one side, Schon the other - but where does JOT play then?
Struggling to fit the three wingbacks into a 343 unless Schon or Tutu is a somewhat square-peg 10. Or JDC in centre-mid!

But we have a squad that can only play one system.

You can have a formation that could be anything, with a one system squad who can't play it! Not sure they're the same thing.

Two RBs on the pitch. I'll take it. Osei Tutu I'd imagine further forward. Gives a sort of a swinging pendulum feel to it if Schon goes forward leaving us with JDC at RCB and Tutu at RB with Murphy at LB.
Maybe I'm over thinking it but one side attack other remains solid

Certainly looks flexible, whatever it is.

Do we think Schon and Tutu can't play as wingers effectively at this level? Do we think Cogley and Murphy can't play as fullbacks?Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 2:14 pmYou can have a formation that could be anything, with a one system squad who can't play it! I think you're generally right, but I don't buy it in the specific.

Well it's a risk / reward balance. Do I think Schon/Tutu are the best wingers we've seen at this level, probably not. Cogz (and Murphy - not seen much of) best FBs probably not.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 2:20 pmDo we think Schon and Tutu can't play as wingers effectively at this level? As ever, in all these debates, I favour pragmatism over philosophy. So I hope he's sending us out to the strengths of the players and team, rather than the system.
There have been plenty of occasions where folks have suggested to try something a bit different and been hollered down coz, under Evatt, they apparently couldn't do X or Y...
