Owen has (is) been injured most this season, right? It's not like he's out of favour and why would he want to finish his career in a relgation dog fight anyway.

Michael Owen would be a waste of time. It'd be the Newcastle problems for him all over again. We can't afford to have 2 Klasnic' on the pitch, we can barely afford to have one. We need someone who can set that sort of player up with regularity and have them scoring frequently, not have Owen and Klasnic struggling to link up with one another.

Coyle will probably play him on the wing! And drop Muamba to fit him in!

Petrov keeps on firing these low crosses in and they're absolutely crying out for someone to attack the ball, which Owen does. He's also the best player that I've ever seen control a ball coming over his shoulder. I'd say he's absolutely what we need, if we could only keep him fit, which I doubt we can!

it's a fair point - I hadn't considered petrov's deliveries...

Don't think I've ever been as pissed-off at a game as I was yesterday as neither Ngog nor Klasnic looked to turn off of the last defender or one single midfielder looked to make a late run from deep to get on the end of Petrov's balls in. However, if Coyle and his acolytes were to look a the goals that we've recently conceded then they actually might learn two lessons. If I can see this etc. etc. :conf:

thing is - it doesn't do petrov any favours either - cos then everyone says he has no end product and that he hits it nowhere near our attackers... we've had this problem before with players who pick a pass and then because nobody has anticipated it or taken a gamble on it - he looks like a muppet and gets yelled at for giving the ball away...

We can't defend and we don't put bodies in the opposition box. You may ask exactly what we are doing between matches?

Criminal that good deliveries from Petrov are wasted.

Oh we're in absolute agreement. I remember once watching an interview with the retired Gary Lineker in which he claimed to have been a shite footballer, which he actually was, but all he ever did was attack the ball into the box. That's Gary, the 5ft 9 & 1/2, 243 goals in 466 games, 48 goals in 80 internationals, Lineker.

people on a forum can be forgiven for not being clear about the rules...

but is it really true that Coyle did not know the rules???

Same could be said for Pulis in the summer, I just put it down to lazy journalism..i dont think Nixon ever bit in the McEachran rumours.

LK said this yesterday when I said "the club will know the rules".

Fck me .... we are suddenly utterly inept as a club.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Again did Coyle, or any of his minions (ala Nixon) actually make any murmurings about McEachran or is it like I suspect lazy journalism?? Just get the feeling if it was any other club but Bolton some journo might have actually done some reasearch, and i'm not about the phone bugging kind.

I suspect Nixon was just saying that Coyle would have liked to take another on loan...

All along Nixon has said we can't so I can only imagine his buddy Owen knew that too!

errr... (as others pointed out, it may be bollox) - BUT - the article SAYS that Coyle "hoped to have one of Andre Villas-Boas’s squad men as part of the (Cahill) move." If he knew the rules he'd have no such hope. Get it?
