Maybe yes, and maybe no...Depends what sort of deal he's on in relation to the other strikers. If we were to bag a "target man" type as a direct replacement (so a Madine with more goals), it might not make sense to keep him too, if he's on three times whatever we're paying the back-up...

You'd still improve the team...

In case you genuinely don't know who I mean, our esteemed club captain. "The white Yaya Toure".
Club captain is pratley? Who isnt white?

IiRC his new deal was signed post relegation and should be somewhat reduced...similiar to wheater where he actually got released and signed back on after a few weeks?

Pratley? Given the turn around in many of our players under Parky, I'd like to see what Pratley looks like. I suspect he could be more like the early Lennon Pratley, full of running and energy. That Pratley would be welcome here. Plus he has a few goals in him. If that one turns up.

I agree. Think a fit pratley would be right up Parky's street.

And I'm not having that trotter wage. Even we would be so stupid. And that's saying something. I think most of that wage chart is tabloid wanker's guesswork

Agreed, and Feeney even more so!

Took a rag mate to Millwall a few years ago after spending months slagging off Darren. Scored a cracking goal and had a stormer. Said mate described him as a white Yaya Toure. His eyes aren't the best.

He's a loser who's rinsed us for donkeys'. Microcosm of our demise. feck him off asap.

Pratley will do what Pratley always does - play shit for 70-80% of the time, play well for a run of matches then get injured and become shit again, before being good again for a few matches. I'd get rid first opportunity.

Madine depends on our situation. I'd like to think we'd be aiming for better, but if we're still in this division next season then I'd look to keep him whilst trying to bring someone in to be in the team ahead of him. If we're in the Championship then I have no faith whatsoever that he'll be any more useful than a chocolate teapot.

Clough we keep unless we get the sort of offer that allows Parky to transform the squad. Same goes for Vela.

Wheater we keep if we can keep the deal sensible.

Wilson I'd like to see how he copes without Ameobi providing the help Wilson was getting. In other words, did Wilson become consistently better because Parky transformed him, or was it because Ameobi provided excellent protection that likely wont be available from other realistic wingers?

Taylor at LB we keep if at all possible.

Clayton we keep as long as the deal keeps in mind his injury record. With a full season under his belt he could kick on to be a very good player for us.

Spearing I'd like to keep, but we might struggle to fight off better offers from the Championship.

The rest can fcuk off* :D

* if I've forgotten anyone else decent I reserve the right to keep them too

If you mean this last relegation, you don't RC... Darren's last contract was signed in summer 2015, and announced at the same time as signing Amos and Madine - a good day's work, all in all.

You've made me all curious, Barnetto. How come these contracts begin and end in June? If I was issuing them they'd start when a pre-season starts and finish when a season ends in either April or May.

Still. Football - finances - fecking madhouse

The contracts end in June because the season runs right into May-including the cup final and/or playoffs plus they're then entitled to four weeks paid holiday.

And who, exactly, grants this "entitlement"? This is absolute bollocks. You do understand fixed term contracts, don't you?

My guess is that it has something to do with the transfer window opening on 01/07.

In a similarish way, teaching contracts run from 1st September to 31st August, regardless of the start and end dates of the school year. Boring fact alert!

Aye, maybe, or perhaps that's a result of contracts ending Jun 30. Obviously moves will be engineered and agreed before then, but that's the date when the actual contracts of employment are legally exchanged – they'll cover wages, which are more important to some players' families than others, but also things like insurance, liability, National Insurance contributions etc.

For one reason or another, I haven't been able to get to the match as often as I normally would do in recent weeks and so am yet to actually see Karacan play. I was quite enthusiastic about him signing for us but he hasn't featured as much as I thought he might have.

What's the consensus on him - shite or alright?
