Good to get the win and a better performance. Word of caution though. Wednesday were really poor. Our full backs in particular will cost us dearly against the better teams. Still, good win today and summat to build upon :D

And DJBlu, fantastic stream... Hopefully more to come! ;) Thanks all the way from Australia.

Sordell's tweeters were something along the lines of "real strength is to keep getting up after being knocked down" or words to that effect.

Eagles and Spearing the men of the match for me.

Mears the dud.

Mavies with probably his best game of the season. Tidy in possession and lots of mazey little runs to hold up the ball. Top goal.

Our attack largely invisible (Afobe had an overall detrimental effect) save for some hard work from Ngog.

Was good to get a goal in open play today (and what a goal it was!) It worries me that the front men arn't really firing and when they do its from set pieces.

It needs sorting or it may well be one of our main downfalls this season.

Now that we've had a couple of games with a stronger midfield, Mavies seems to be coming back into his own again, as part of a 3-man midfield.

Fortunately the Prat came up with a 4 3 1 2 which worked today, unfortunately I remember him coming up with a 4 5 1 system last season which won us a few games, only then he decided to go back to 4 4 2 against Wigan, which led to us start on losing streak again. I can only hope the stubborn bastard learns from this, but I have my doubts, Back to 4 4 2 next week.

Spearing is a really tidy player. Eagles a class above at this level. Big positives there. Mark Davies shows how he should be used with an emphatic finish.

Sordell's missus will surely be fuming after another N'Gog sitter and invisible performance from Afobe.

Darren Pratley for manager it is then

Finally got a chance to see us play via a stream. Thanks Guys.

We looked a good team, pressing the ball when we did not have it, passing it around in midfield with some good movements and looking solid in defence.

Still have some work to do up front as we do not look like we have goalscoring fowards, although they put in a good shift. Yes, we did look even less threatening when Afobe came on but can't agree with the slagging off he is getting. He is still a teenager and will be better the more time he has on the field. Sordell clearly has not impressed the times he played so give the young man (Afobe) a chance to get

MOM for me was Spearing. Thought he was too injured to play but really bossed the midfield with his tackles, passing and positioning.

Lets now utilize our home advantage in the upcoming games.

Also let's not blame Afobe it's not the lads fault Coyle prefers him over Sordell and let's be honest none of us really know which one's better because both hardly get any (start) games

When we were doing well in the Prem, we were playing 4-4-2 with essentially two defensive midfielders in Holden and the Moo.

From what I've seen from Spearing so far he's taken over the Moo's mantle, but I'm not convinced by Andrews yet though. However, it's pretty clear this is OC's preferred partnership.

If we do go back to 4-4-2 (:/), this would require shoving M Davies out to the wing or dropping him completely, and right now Eagles is undroppable. So Petrov/Chungy are still unlikely to get on the pitch.

He has done nowt wrong IMO and has got himself a goal in the few times he has played. We have not got time to blood other teams players if they are not upto the job.

Andrews the extra pair of midfield legs at the minute. Neither the skill of Mavies or the defensive clout of Spearing. If Pratley rotates with anybody it's him.

Yes great to see us win but wednesday look awful. Maybe coyle has stumbled upon a system which may work and incorporates Mavis more effectively than sticking him on the wing. Good to see eagles in a more free role but as someone said earlier you dont need two hold up strikers who wont shoot to make that system work. Put ricketts and Warnock out wide as wingbacks and it might just work.No wingers needed though which is kind of amusing given the number coyle has signed.

Mills looked better and we got away with our fullbacks today I still cant see that working against the better teams in the division but yay away win you can only beat whats infront of you. Coyle will get his ten games.

Got to wonder about his treatment of Sordell. The new Muamba it seems. If coyle has an axe to grind he should just play him and let him prove he's not good enough. As it is it looks like a personal issue and highly unprofessional on the part of both.

My only worry is where Lee and Petrov fit into the system. Eagles is having a blinder but the only way I see the wingers getting a look in is part of 4-5-1, which wouldn't work with Davies or Afobe or even with a non-scoring Ngog.

A very good win, though not one without a few criticisms. Ngog's dreadful finishing almost cost us the points whilst Alonso's clearances at times were wretched. Mark Davies scored a beauty though; at half-time, a classy Mario Gotze goal for Germany was shown on TV and it went through my mind that Davies is capable of that kind of thing. He has it in him to produce magic but for whatever reason he hasn't been doing it recently. But his goal was awesome. Jay Spearing was fantastic again. But the poor finishing from Ngog and yet another listless performance from Afobe is cause for concern. And Sordell wasn't even on the bench? Ngog gets himself in good positions and he can run with the ball very well but he doesn't have a natural instinct in front of goal.

On the train back.Sounds like most streaming got a better view than me! Its a nice little area hillsbrough shame my view was restricted by a massive stantion.

Looked like two poor teams to me. I've criticised eagles in the past but he is far and away our best player. Might even have a claim to be the best player in the league. Spearing is what we needed and M. Davies had a great game too. Alsonso was simply awful, sooner warnock gets in the better.

Not great but some positives to build on.
