I shouted a general "oh fvck of booing you fvckin pricks" or something along those lines, as Worthy will testify. He'd ploughed me with about 5 pints at that point though. Think he was trying to date rape meTKIZ! wrote:ESL, I made a point of saying out loud that I thought it was a joke fans booing and got shouted down by a gimp two seats and a row in front who told me I don't watch enough BWFC?
That's the type of fans we have now at the games

If you can remember nothing between 5-8pm but feel a little sore I think he managed it.boltonboris wrote:I shouted a general "oh fvck of booing you fvckin pricks" or something along those lines, as Worthy will testify. I really hoped what I heard were instinctive groans, but deep down knew what was happening. Not cheering someone on is one thing, but ....
I also think it was a reaction, bred from years of failure, to Dougie's defensive minded change. TBH that concerns me too, but we're going to have to get used to it I guess.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Years of failure? Can't go with that. We've just had the most successful period the club has enjoyed in the last 50 years.bobo the clown wrote:If you can remember nothing between 5-8pm but feel a little sore I think he managed it.boltonboris wrote:I shouted a general "oh fvck of booing you fvckin pricks" or something along those lines, as Worthy will testify. Not so... We've just had the best run of home matches in the second tier... Slight difference... I think you'd agree...BWFC_Insane wrote: Years of failure? Can't go with that. We've just had the most successful period the club has enjoyed in the last 50 years.

I was referring to the last ten years or so in general as Bobo was using the 'years of failure' to explain fans reactions to a decision.William the White wrote:Not so... Last couple of years have been poor granted. But I just meant the overall scheme of things, we can't say fans are sick of years of failure, IMO.....

I meant since the ecit of Allerdice.
Our defence's ability to see out a lead has been far from total. The booing, disgraceful asitwas, seemed to related to to the disbelief in Dougie's stated pregerence for seeing games out.

Re: Middlesbrough to the slaughter!
More like years of success. that's the problem, heightened expectations and people expecting constant year on year improvements. We were always going to go down at some point, 11 years was a big achievement. People need to look at how other clubs have sunk in such situations and realise we're not doing too bad. Blackburn and Wolves for example.

Not sure it was that at all. I think it was directed to the "who" (Butterfield) rather than the what (a defender).bobo the clown wrote:I meant since the ecit of Allerdice.

No you weren't. You were very specifically referring to the last 50 years. It says so right there!BWFC_Insane wrote:I was referring to the last ten years or soWilliam the White wrote:Not so... Granted he didn't cover the runner, he made a mistake. I do think that the ball should never have got into the box at all though. Ricketts had been skinned 3 or 4 times down that side. Overall, I thought his performance was OK and he led the back four well, including Dawson who made some uncharacteristic mistakes.Bruce Rioja wrote:Oh, so him doing what he's expected to do for some of the time but fecking it up royally on occasion enough for us to concede needless goals is ok, is it?Bijou Bob wrote:A tad harsh for me this time Brucey, I thought he had a fairly solid game today and led the back line well.

Well, it's quite obvious that he's saying the last ten years is the club's most successful in 50 years, so...
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind

Well exactly. Sure the last 2 years have been shite. But I still don't think that equates to 'years of failure'. And doesn't explain fans booing a sub with their team about to win their 8th consecutive home game.Prufrock wrote:Well, it's quite obvious that he's saying the last ten years is the club's most successful in 50 years, so...
Not like we'd just spent 15 years failing to get out of the bottom division or sommat!

Re: Middlesbrough to the slaughter!
Fans pay to watch their team, and that gives them a right to be able to voice there approval or disapproval in any way they wish to within the law.
Chelsea fans are doing so with Benitez, Dingles with Venkies. Booing a professional sportsman should be water of a ducks back, A player is more likely to put in a shift and a performance with positive support. People who did boo Butterfield onto the pitch should have a look at themselves in my opinion maybe their Saturday would be better spent in Tescos, as anyone who wants boo his own team clearly isn't a supporter.
But they have paid money to voice their opinion and they have that right.

Re: Middlesbrough to the slaughter!
Wasn't obvious to me that's what he meant in the original post... I thought because of the madman's Freedman adorationfest that he was referring to the last ten weeks... But, if the last ten years is what he meant it's still quite a stretch to call on the Megson/Coyle/Freedman years as evidence...Prufrock wrote:Well, it's quite obvious that he's saying the last ten years is the club's most successful in 50 years, so...
Certainly right on the Allardyce years...

In support of this - everyone has the right to be stupid.gizmothevoomer wrote:Fans pay to watch their team, and that gives them a right to be able to voice there approval or disapproval in any way they wish to within the law.

So, if paying money is the essential criterion... perhaps you should pay more to be stupid, which is obviously damaging to the small community of which you are part, fans of BWFC, than others who seek to promote its interests with a genuine feel for collective endeavour...
There could even be a stupidity menu, I guess, whereby you could pay for the precise amount of abuse of your own players you wish to exercise...
I mean, I pay the same as the boo idiots. is that fair?
