Agreed! a CB should of been the priority in the last window

Is it only we who don't know football who see how blindingly obvious this is ??

I keep coming back to the forum meeting when he announced Knight as his new captain and the room howled ... many actually laughing ... and his sheepish response.

I really don't want the guy sacking. Clubs who bin managers once a season are always chaotic. I do want him to stop being so fckg defensive minded, stop flooding midfielders with the sort of players who will never create anything and stop wasting time covering players who should be doing their job efficiently, but aren't. Get them organised ... or out.

At the moment the reason we aren't scoring is coz he's building his team to cover frailties which he is responsible for sorting out.

Having a George Graham mentality requires a defence which is reliable. Even then it's not pretty, but at least that works.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

It seems he put a lot of faith in Wheater - from what I hear he's thinking he made a boo boo

He can't very well complain about having no cash for replacements then, can he?

Is he complaining?

I've heard him say he inherited some shit and it'd be hard to argue with that

Shit that he handed a new contract to and gave the captain's armband to. But we've done this before, and its all somebody else's fault, we get it.

When did he say that? All i've heard him say is that he was pleased with the squad he inherited.

I keep noticing this thread's got longer. Pleased to see that despite 21 pages no-one's really desperate to see the back of DF.

I agree with this except that he has to change the selection (in defence) until he finds something that works... I like the concept of Cravies being used more. If we have a defence that's ok we can have either Spearing or Medo with more attack-minded players who can hopefully keep the ball and score goals.
Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:If I were Dougie I would be looking to get a settled side out and stop fecking about with selection. I'd stop trying to protect the defence to the extent we seem to try. It isn't working. Pick a back 4 and drill them to within an inch of their lives and stick with them. I'd look to try Cravies and Beckford at home and use Hall a bit more. They offer something different to each other, and whilst Cravies is limited, he at least can put a shot on target. I'd also take the arm band off Knight and tell the squad that one of them can try and earn it. In the meantime I don't give a shit who has it.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

I sit behind him at the match :)

What he's actually saying (publicly) is that he can't move them on

Whether that is because they are shite or because we pay them too much, either way it's down to you, Owen

That suggests they've been given new contracts somewhere along the way, which then suggests that they're probably not 'shithouses'.

Depends on who gave them out

Hopefully most weren't offered due to ping pong prowess

he DID say he didn't want any clubs to come in for any of our players.. I heard him say it!

he has also said he wanted players out of the door... (allegedly - I didn't hear him say that)

cake... eat it....

I give you Zat Knight. Arguably the biggest shithouse we have right now. 3 managers?

I give you Ngog. 2 managers?

There are 2. 1 re-signed by a different manager to the one that originally signed him and one that hasn't re-signed. You could say Wheater is another, depending on how much slack we're giving him for being out for a long time.

I'm not sure how that proves they are or are not shithouses. I think they are shithouses and poor judgement on the part of whichever manager was involved, though Coyle needs to take a particularly large bow for Knight. Why are they shithouses in my opinion? Because they are lazy, feckless and weak. Ngog has some talent but needs to grow a pair and use it. Knight needs to wake up and give a shit. Even then I'm not convinced he's worthy of a place in a League 2 team, never mind a team with supposed Premiership ambitions.

Am I wasting my time asking for your opinion? What the problem is beyond it just pointing at Dougie?

Saint Dougie gave one of them to a central defender who is now apparently part of the problem.

Point of Order.
A shithouse is an unpleasant person.
Somebody who is shite at their job is just shit, and not necessarily a shithouse.

A person that grins ear to ear upon relegation is a shithouse. They happen to be shit at their job as well.
