According to a blogger. I could start a blog and say we've bought Chad Barrett, but it wouldn't mean anything.

Looking increasingly likely that this will happen though. This guy could have some tip-top sources.

Gera is 32 and an established Premier League player. I think he'll be wanting to play for the first team rather than the reserves since it'll probably be his last contract. I don't expect Eagles and Mears think that they'll be automatic first choices. Stupid question.

Coyle knows these two. They play in a division below and haven't much Prem experience, though a little. And they are at a club that has a stated aim of balancing the books.

In short, they'd be cheaper than any of the other options subsequently mentioned, without any commensurate drop in quality.

I'd imagine its that simple.

Jonathan Spector is shit. Really, really shit. Anyone who manages to elevate themselves into the role of the 'joke' player that West Ham fans hate/ironically sympathise with at the same time must be doing something right (wrong!) with some of the candidates they've had in that team!

The Eagles/Mears stuff comes from Chris Boden and Suzanne Gerald who are the main journalists with regards to stuff Burnley FC. Be nice if we could announce a trio of new signings (with Reo-Coker) on Wednesday.

Aye - but more than A. Carroll and P. Jones at around 40 games each so at 2.75m OC thinks they're worth a shot.

Anyway, just been told we've signed Reo Coker. I don't have Sky, so am taking this on trust.

Like I said, I've been told. I haven't a clue whether we have or not.

Sky are saying we have agreed personal terms. Which may or may not be true. Either way we haven't signed him yet.

If we've agreed terms with him, I mean...it's done.

Eagles, Mears and Reo-Coker.

Tell me that you didn't have loftier ambitions a month ago?

Than Reo Coker? Is that a wind-up?

I think Chris Eagles and Tyrone Mears will want to play for the first team rather than the reserves since they are football players. There are a lot of 'probably's and the like in that sentence which are just substitutes for 'I actually have no idea's. You asked a frankly ludicrous question, -who else could we get then? ( um, not being privy to any of the actual pennies situation, who would want to come, who the scouts have recommended I/we have seen very little of, I don't know)- and received an answer of alternatives. Now in my opinion some were possibly better than Eagles, some worse all depending on a range of factors we do not, and never will know. People don't need to scout out alternatives to think a player is not good enough.

As it goes, I think Mears would be an OK premiership RB, at a fairly similar level to Steinsson and Ricketts, and if we had only one of those two, then I would be quietly happy with his signing. However we have two there, and whilst Ricketts may be injured at the moment, RB is not a priority. Eagles I do not rate. Given we have two strikers and two wingers at the club, they must be priorities. For that reason I can see the logic of Eagles, even if I don't particularly want the player.

At least we won't see Gardner in centre mid this year, now can we try him at left back instead of Alonso (who is more than likely going to be useless for us in 6 months by the sounds of it)?

I'd be a bit perturbed if we can't agree with Mears/Eagles given where they are now! Its hardly a sideways move is it?

Look Sky have jumped the gun before, I'd not get too excited until you see PSG!
