Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

Minnows and giant-killer have caused upset in the F.A. Cup for longer than I can remember. I'm just grateful to be through.norm the jedi wrote: [82 minutes to put down conference opposition.. not much room for gloating imv... chuffed to be through to the fourth round mind..

... and a clean sheet !! Fair racking them up nowadays.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Anyone who went know how the ref got on?
A York supporter on Twitter said:
"Bent ref at The Reebok and it took em 83mins to get a goal? Premier League, you're having a laugh!"

Re: Bolton vs York City
Really, if you check the Beeb stats he pretty much gave everything, I think it said we had something like 19 fouls. Again it don't really matter what they put, we are Premier League, irrespective of the scoreRobbieSavagesLeg wrote:Anyone who went know how the ref got on?

Which, as ten consecutive years there and current 7th position shows, makes that just sour grapes Yorkie.RobbieSavagesLeg wrote:Anyone who went know how the ref got on?

Banana skin well avoided.
13 shots on target - 4 shots on target
Listening t'Local Radio up in't York made me remember the good old Dave Higson. Baised as fook. Quite clearly we should have been down to ten men for the hand ball outside of the area, And the header under the bar at the end "If it had been 0-0" would have counted.

Re: Bolton vs York City
Not sure how there could be too many complaints about the ref, there were no massive decisions he missed. Maybe book Bogdan? That's about it.
Anyway, it was very harsh on York, but we won and that's all that counts. We've come unstuck in plenty of games like that before (and probably would have today if we didn't have Bogdan and two in-form quality strikers to bring on).
Klasnic wasn't injured, he was just way off the pace. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was still feeling his injury from the week, but Coyle was unimpressed to say the least. Cohen was also understandably way off match-fitness, though he worked hard. Same for Blake. Alonso was solid without ever looking hugely convincing. Petrov was Petrov, I've no idea what's going on with him at all.
Not great by any means, but we're on our way. Attendance was as it was always likely to be. As ever, a large percentage of Bolton fans only give a shit about the Cups when an opportunity to moan presents itself, or we make the final (or both).
On a lighter note, that's 18 goals for the Elmander/Davies strike partnership this season. Our best Premier League front two ever? If they can get 25 for the season between them that'd be a fantastic return.

Anyone know when the draw is for R4?
Who do you fancy?
I fancy Hereford or Huddersfield away.

Re: Bolton vs York City
Did not play well at all, main culprit was Klasnic, who looked like he was strolling around his back garden. Petrov couldn't do anything right and was getting more and more frustrated. Our hungriest player was probably Moreno I thought, looked full of energy again.
York can feel gutted about this one - they should've got something out of it with the chance just before we scored, but they had a couple of others which were far better than anything we created.
Davies' goal came from a slightly overhit cross which hit a full back on the shin and fell back into his path 6 yards out, left foot in off the bar. Elmander's was just outside the box on the right hand side, cut onto his left and a great curling finish into the far corner - cracker.
The ref was quite fussy - there were quite a lot of just little trips and so on going on but it only took two suspicious ones for the York supporters to start accusing him of big league bias. The thing which annoyed me was that he wanted a 30 second conversation after every foul before trotting into position, really slowed it down.
Anyway we're through at the end of a testing spell of games every 3 days. We're through and will have forgotten about this by next week.
