just on my way back from st andrews now. Fantastic match and the support was superb throughout the game. Everyone went crazy when that winner went in! Amazing feeling!

Cant wait for the semi whoever it is. In Coyle we trust.

A very happy Wanderer!
Who's that coming up the hill boys,
The Wanderers are coming up the hill boys,
They all laugh at us, they all mock at us,
They all say our days are numbered,

Born to be a Wanderer, victorious are we....

Just got in from the game (I live four miles from St Andrews) where I had Mr Rioja's company at the front of the stand. Well what an atmosphere and result. We looked incredibly comfortable first half until Birmingham's double substitution saw us get very scrappy and them well and truly back on top. We settled down and regained our composure second half whilst Birmingham got stuck in and harried.

Our own subs made all the difference - every time Lee touched the ball something good seemed to happen naturally - but I was resigned to a replay after Phillips's (freak?) goal went in. So all hail to the whippet-like Korean for being where we needed him when it counted.

The fans were the best thing about today - brilliant throughout. Well done Bolton.

Bob on that Ratty, pretty much my view of today. We started stronger, quicker, and got the goal we deserved. They shored it up. Both their goals came from poor defensive clearances, by Wheater and Holden respectively, but once again great spirit to stick with it and get the win.

How often does Super Kev WIN pennies? Good to get the decision after both sides had one turned down. Jussi's...well, you've seen them given, but looked a good tackle and a good decision. Our "first" not given because of a push?? Looked a good shout from my seat.

Great to see the FA Cup pitch side. Never seen it for real before. Looks a belter. Luckily, we got plenty of room

Realtime you could see Jussi got the ball, which the linesman saw also. The penalty that was turned down could have gone either way.

WHO CARES THOUGH!!!! Still buzzing!

Jussi got a lot of boot leather on the ball, and in time, and it was never a penalty in the memory of. Rats, Ginge, what's the word on that line call on Petrov? He was off and running clear and the ball looked a mile in on the replays. Two shocking line calls in two games. Not impressed at all by the liners.

The Brum handball was clearly a penalty since there was no push (seen with the advantage of several replays). Ditto Jussi got the ball with his boot first and it was the right call. Also Jussi did tip the ball that hit the post (though I'm not sure he altered the course by much but possibly just enough).

I was quite central so not in a position to slate liners today.

I can confirm Dowd gave fouls against Kev that weren't reciprocated against their strikers
Then booked him for dissent, following one of his least understandable decisions

The referees need to reach a consensus on some of these striker v centre half incidents. I mean how can you give a foul on someone who doesn't attempt to jump to win a ball. It's obstruction.

Ohhhh, boys, what a day. Full report to be penned, hopefully by tomorrow, but some initial thoughts.

We (the fans) were cracking all afternoon. Spontaneous applause for Lofthouse midway through the second half, non-stop singing, absolutely terrific.

The only people to come out of today with a bit of their glory tarnished were Wheater, who had a poor game trying to mark Cameron Jerome, and possibly Steinsson and Petrov, neither of whom had their best games.

But who cares?? We're going to Wembley boys!!

Absolutely brilliant day. We made it hard for ourselves with some less than brilliant defending. First time for me that Wheater has been a bit shaky. Still seems better than Knight though! Struggled to get the ball clear second half at times, pitch didn't help though was atrocious.

Crowd were just belting, and the whole day was something we haven't known for a fair while. 5000 or so fans travelling down, singing in the services, singing all the way back, waving at each other on the motorway. There was a buzz to it the whole day, that intangible buzz that you can't really describe but was just there. We haven't had that for a long time. Certainly not on UK soil anyways.

Was a great day all round. Not sure we played that well in the final analysis but that is of the most minor importance today.

Credit to a very understrength Brum side who then lost two of their senior players during the first half for pushing us all the way though, Phillips goal was super. Probably a bit harsh on em not to get a replay.

Bring on Wembley can't fooking wait!

There's no highlights programme on ITV tonight - and the one tomorrow says "action from the TWO REMAINING quarter final ties".

Does this mean that all the highlights we're getting from this bastard TV company are sandwiched into the opening of the Scum-Arse tie??

Please, BWFCI, don't be ridiculous. Would they say that about us? Would they fxxk as like. We led once, they came back, we had to go again and then and again. Defensive slips happen when you're constantly attacking and little or nothing could be done about Phillip's goal. I said earlier Wheater couldn't have done much other than he did. He was on one leg facing his own goal and hooked it away. Just unfortunate that it went to Jerome. The fact that we kept pounding away all game was the highlight for me, and justice was well done in the end.

When you consider that they were only playing 3 or 4 regulars and then two went off injured first half, they did well to peg us back twice.

I'm not bothered as it was a fooking ace day, but my point was Brum did well considering the team they had out and the circumstances of the game and lets face it had their chances, great Jussi save from Phillips and one cleared off the line.

Anyways, who cares we're there!

That really, really is the (cliche alert) magic of the FA Cup. At the end Bolton fans hugging each other, shaking hands, shouting, singing, giving SKD a farewell he's never had anywhere before...

The game was scrappy at times but truly exciting, the ref truly abysmal, the result truly delightful...

Just opened a bottle of wine... There's a chicken curry, an aubergine one and a chickpea and spinach one cooking... hate it that there's no highlights... anyone got a link to the goals? Please...

Oh, man, I am so happy...

And - I despair - the four of us travelling down today - Bolton season ticket holders - go away to Europe every year to drink beer and do art. This year the destination is Amsterdam... And the weekend we've chosen, and booked, because there was a blank in the fixture list? The FA CUP SEMI FINAL weekend...

We go to Amsterdam on the Thursday, return on the Tues... I've now been delegated to check on the feasibility/cost of a day return flight for the game as soon as we know the date of the match... This is mad...
