Re: The Match Against Blackburn Rovers
First up on MOTD. Good coverage and plenty respect from the pundits. Now, whilst urging Muamba's recovery on, we have to think football. Just hope the top-end guys play their parts (Liverpool excepted of course, who donated six points this week to relegation rivals. Thanks lads.) All in our own hands now.

Those are some choice stats! 3 of the standouts definitely. NRC looked knackered in the last 20 but still got around to put a couple of important challenges in. The fullbacks probably won't have similiar statistics but they both impressed me with their workrate, particularly Steiner who always looked fired up.Athers wrote:Since we love stats when we win
M.Davies 33/34 passes made successfully.
Wheater a mammoth 20 clearances.
NRC both match highs of 7 tackles, 6 intercepts
I can't remember us having quite so many successful sliding tackles as we made in the first half but I'll put that down to Blackburn's long ball game.
He was never going to give it.Prufrock wrote:Got very lucky with the penalty shout at 0-0, looked like an absolute stone-waller

We could have had 3 or 4 today and would have deserved them. I thought QPR looked bad a few weeks ago but Blackburn were awful and for a team coming off 2 wins they played very negatively and got exactly what they deserved.

Not sure I agree with the 3 or 4 comment. Or that Blackburn were that bad. Nothing between the two teams for me, apart from the fact we gave it absolutely everything and our wide men were inspired.Jakerbeef wrote:Those are some choice stats! 3 of the standouts definitely. But they had some decent chances as well. On another day we coulda just as easily lost it!
Re: The Match Against Blackburn Rovers
Mavies header that went wide, Ngog header that went over. Both of them unmarked and 6 yards out. Petrov's cross/shot that went wide. I still think a draw would have been harsh.
Personally think we knocked it about a lot better too.
Both teams definitely looked shakey in defence, but all the teams down this end do atm.

Aye much better on the ball than them and N'Gog's was a golden chance, Mark Davies' unmissable! What did they have? Yakubu's first half header and a backheel that was never going in in a month of Sundays. Pratley had another two free headers as well. Unexpected against that lot.
WTF was their goal though, Mark Davies marking Nzonzi?!

Yes. It was a very good display, players looked visibly knackered both mental and physically. Proud to be a Wanderer
Pfffft.
Re: The Match Against Blackburn Rovers
didn't watch MOTD last night - so watched it this morning with my breakfast...
I totally didn't expect it - but after the final whistle and the players going into that huddle - I totally lost it and blubbed - tears streaming down my face!!!
also - Wheater's second - a thumping cracker of a header!!

Thought the same, he looked like he actually bothered yesterday. His crosses were superb. Little Ryo had a great game again and dare I say it Coyle has worked his magic with loans again.lovethesmellofnapalm wrote:wtf got into Petrov?

I was all right at the end. Sunny day, victory, that atmosphere, the chanting at the end, was amazing. Nearly went pre game during the tribute though. Good job I had a quiet Friday, as hungover I cry at anything! Even sober I don't know what it is but any sort of stirring emotional tribute like that gets me moist eyed!

Given our squad strength, Lee still out and Miachi off back to his home club, do you think we can afford not to renew it?Ianmooreslovechild wrote:Pff anyone would think his contract is nearly up.lovethesmellofnapalm wrote:wtf got into Petrov?

You're going to get a big shock end of season TD, I don't think many out of contract will be offered new deals, and those that are may not accept the drastically reduced terms.
Remember we have singled Wylde, Sordell who have yet to feature. And Coyle will be having to bring through some youngsters as well as sign a few more...

Re: The Match Against Blackburn Rovers
I think Petrov is a bit old but still good enough for us next season too. Having said that, I think we would be okay without him next season as we've got Gregg Wylde and Lee will come back. And, Miyaichi might play for us next season too, I love this kid already.TANGODANCER wrote:Given our squad strength, Lee still out and Miachi off back to his home club, do you think we can afford not to renew it?Ianmooreslovechild wrote:Pff anyone would think his contract is nearly up.lovethesmellofnapalm wrote:wtf got into Petrov?
