They dont fit. It's a winger free system. But our wingers are pointless anyway so long as we dont have strikers who want to get on the end of crosses. Might aswell forget wingers.

NGog or Sordell are the only options in a 451. I'd like to see sordell there because he seems to still want to get in scoring postions and has reasonable link up play.Seems unlikely now coyle is having a lovers tiff with him.

The point of todays system should be a more competive midfield and compact shape..Fullbacks need to become the wide outlet. hence time for Ricketts and Warnock to be in.

Er well done Owen...
I'll not join the club that has your victories as accidents and everything including bobbins refereeing on your plate..
You may well be shite but when you send a team out and it wins away from home when 100's of experts - strangely yet to be employed by any professional team - are calling you from 15 minutes before kick off.. Then fair play credit where it's due..
You also appear to have accidentally signed a decent midfield enforcer ... and if you've seen Marvin in training every day for six months.. and don't fancy him ultimately that's up to you.. and you're probably best placed to judge.. any road up it'll be your wages you're backing that judgement with not mine or any other broadband beckenbauer's..
Good win.. and good spirit to come back from another feck awful conference referreeing decision.. also nice of Mark Davies to finally turn up..

COYWM..
Are we in League 2 yet - Three seasons and we'll be away to Chesham

Credit where it's due and all that Norm.

But someone posted a figure about us conceding something like 100 goals in our last 50 games. Or is that figure not worth anything? And so many others statistics besides.

The calls for Coyle's head are warranted, even after today.

One of the better performances I've seen in the flesh over the last few years. Eagles looked like Christiano Ronaldo today. Thought Ngog did well. Liked what I saw from Spearing. Happy for Alonso, didn't think he had that much of a 'mare. Great atmosphere. Nice day, but was too busy for a pie at halftime.

Well, it's 3 points & a win's a win, but it's almost in spite of the useless tosser 'managing' us.

It may well be that he's taken a good look at Sordell & doesn't fancy him. If so he's wasted a lot of money & fckd a kids career up.

How Kavies & N'Gog starting together seems a good idea I have nooooo idea.

Why Ricketts isn't getting in ahead of Mears is a mystery.

Wtf with Mavies on the wing. When he comes inside he works.

Having 2 of our very few genuine Prem standard players, Lee & Petrov sitting matches out is a mystery.

That we've got 6 points from 9 with that amazing brew is stunning. Imagine what we'd get with a manager who had a clue !!

Warnock & Holden's eventual return, plus Weater & we have a chance. All the more if Cptn. Chaos cleared off.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I notice you missed out who paid 3M for Sordell then to now be a 'better judge'.

The score at Birmingham right now, should be enough to stop anyone getting ahead of themselves.....

Much better work rate & committment, better pressing & closing down, not as much wasteful hoofball - at times we even looked like a football team and even looked organised with a good shape to the team (can't remember the last time I could say this)

I don't think Coyle learn's from anything or listens to anyone (a major fault in Coyle), but I like the 4-3-1-2 formation if it was mean't, we looked solid and we all know (the fans) that this always gets the best from M Davies (he's not a right winger FFS), very good performances from Spearing (very impressed), Eagles, M Davies & even Mills looked decent.

N'Gog good 1st half and we play better with him in the side (if only he could score), but I feel very sorry for young Sordell how the fcuk Afobe gets in ahead of him is a compete mystery - what a waste of £3.5M, I think him & N'Gog would be a good quick & mobile partnership unfront - because we urgently need a striker who can score goals, because N'Gog is very poor in front of goal.

This win will be good for the players confidence, and if Coyle ever learn's (highly doubtful going off his track record), then he may just have stumbled on a formation that suits our midfield players - but I won't hold my breathe.

Just got in now myself from the game. Without having time to read all the way back i'm pretty sure all that needed to be said on the game has been..however...

Does anyone know any more about the person that bailed off the upper tier of the away stand after the winner went on?? Feared the worst at first but the paramedics seemed quite relaxed in the end.

I suppose the point is if you look at the table, we're in the middle having played a bunch of teams in the middle. It's early but very average against the very average teams wont get us up. Forest are the best we've played and we drew at home to them.
Anyway two wins out of 3(6 out of 9pts) promotion form. Coyle in........we're ace!

Yeah I saw that it was quite near me. A load of lads rushed down to the front of the upper tear after Davies scored and one them went arse over tit right over the ledge. Must be a 20ft drop. Paramedics legged it straight over but he was fine. He got checked over and then he was back amongst the travelling contingent later in the half. Got a bit of stick off the Wednesday fans once they knew he was alright.

To be fair it was a mint goal and well worth celebrating!

Didn't come on here while the match was on. Having read the thread from kick-off till the end, don't ever slate West Ham fans again. :spank:

We took a while to get going, Wednesday weren't that bad when coming throught the middle and passing. Far too much reliance on banging it down the right wing though. As for the Alonso slating, he was up against a greyhound in Antonio, did well enough and scored a cracking goal. N'gog had me wishing we'd never parted with Klasnic. Spearing has all the right ideas and, as the game went on we got better and better. Still don't like our running off players and defending so high, but fair play to holding out. Rickets is a way better than Mears and should be in there. No issue with the way the subs went although I didn't understand the Pratley one except as a means of taking a bit of momentum out of their pressing at the end..

Eagles worked like a trojan and showed real skill and class and Mark Davies's goal was really terrific. The referee was Moss-bank Sunday League class-if that. The penalty was a joke and not as clear cut as the Eagles one he waved away. Linesmen were half asleep to the fact that their players were gaining yards every throw by con-tricks. Not impressed at all with the officials. All in all, still a bit of a nervy win but it should kick the confidence levels up some.
When Alonso got his yellow, their player got one for imaginary card-waving and should have got red for deliberately trying to get a player sent off.

We still need to realise you don't get time on the ball at this level and clogging, wrestling and shirt-pulling are the norm. We're getting there.

Imagine what we'd get with a manager who had a clue !!

As our squad suggests, we'd be stormin' it! We'd be riding the orgon accumulator across the great om riff. No one to catch us , led by the starship trooper. A journey to the center of the earth, to hear tubular bells, played in kashmire, resonating with a division bell. ( I think the wine's kicked in,,,,,,,,,,,)

Whether it was intentional or not; whether we play a 4-5-1 with wide men; or whether we play the 4-3-1-2 that we did today, the midfield trio has to remain now. We're a much better side with three rather than two in the centre.

Spearing has become a very important player for us in such a short time because he's capable of winning the ball and then making the simple pass to another white shirt; and that's something that we haven't had for at least the last season and a half. We even dominated possession and I'm at a loss to remember the last time we did that under Coyle.

Mark Davies also had a much bigger impact on the game as the more forward of the midfield three, no doubt as a result of being released of the burden of having to track back and defend.

As others have said, a more talented team would have had the better of our full-backs and I hope that even Coyle can see that Alonsohas some way to go to fill his potential and replaces him with Warnock next week. Stick Ricketts on the right instead of Mears, then play one of either Davies or N'Gog alongside Sordell, and I reckon we're good to go.

Coyle has to see this now, doesn't he?

We had a comfortable 3-0 win at Wednesday under Sam Allardyce but the problem is we don't have Sam Allardyce because we wouldn't pay the package needed to keep someone of his talents.

Having said that I'm not sure strikers who are as poor finishers as Ngog and Davies would ever lead us to a procession of high scoring wins under any manager.

This N'Gog "sitter". The throw-in on the far side was awarded to us. You might like to consider that, some of you.
