I've always liked Madine, top player.

Twatdick, as someone on here childishly yet amusingly named him, looks like a liability. Came on at oldham and looked like a supoorter who'd won a comp to get a game. Lennon obviously sees something but I'm fecked if I know what it is. Let's hope it becomes obvious soon.

I think he's going to take over from Trotter as liability of the season this year

ok my report.

overall - we were a bit flattered by the result. They hit the woodwork 3 times ...

1st half thought they were better team. Worringly a few Red Sea moments when their guys ran directly at us. Whilst we moved it around OK, not much penetration, our best chances came from balls over the top. 2nd half more even.

Liked the look of Derik - predict he will be sold for £££s in a couple of years. Two footed, competitive, quick, comfortable on the ball. Their No9 was a handful and turned him a couple of times but he got back to block. Others worthy of mention- thought Spearing looked busy and purposeful when he came on and that Dobbie did more creatively in his 20 mins than Mavies in the previous 70. Madine took his goals well, but didn't see much of the hold up play etc I'd heard about (but if he scores who cares)
On the 'still in pre season' gear was our old friend Mr Trotter - there was actually some guy sat in front of me with Trotter on his shirt - wasn't you Bruce was it ?; and Mr Feeney .. I know we love a trier but there is just so little end product.

NL:
"For the majority of the game I thought we played well, but we made a lot of changes and it does disrupt the flow and fluidity of the team. But I have got to give players the opportunity to play at the minute. I think we are getting closer. I thought we played better first half and then for 10-15 minutes in the second half. We scored two very good goals and should have had a few more, particularly in the first half. With the changes we sat back a little more and took on more pressure - but it's fine, I'm pleased. We won and we look alright."

If we're adopting players for shirts (bit like in the old days when players were sponsored in the programme and nobody fancied sponsoring Wayne Burnett) i'll take Twatdick. I think he's fecking useless based on what I've seen. Worryingly he was NL's firs cash expenditure!

Luckily the follow ups of Amos, Derik & Madine seem like solid buys

Vela was good first half but the second passed him by until about five minutes before he was subbed. Trotter lost possession in the most embarrassing of fashion but about 15 seconds later the ball was in their net for madine's second. Other than that he was as ok. Danns looked in good, combative shape. Feeney was feeney. You'll either get a good shift and a bit of end result or a good shift and absolute garbage. Tonight was the latter. Dobbie impressed when he came on. The right back struggled to cope with their tricky winger but held his own for the most part. Moxey was garbage but i imagine it's hard to play one of the key positions on the field without a regular wing partner. That being said it'd help if he could make a pass. Just one pass, so he could at least justify putting his boots on. Derik and Dervitte spells danger but we go with what we've got. Madine took his goals well, capitalising on some league 1 defending. Didn't see much else from him but two goals ain't to be sniffed at.
11 days before the big kick off and we're still playing trialists and our young, hungry attacking talents are injured and nowhere to be seen. Hold on to your hats!

Is Twaz still being played at full back?

If so, he is a midfielder and hopefully that is why he looks garbage playing out of position.
