Gail Platz wrote:The team we put out against Arsenal was wrong in my opinion. I was pleased to see a change in the formation with 5 in midfield and Ngog up front on his own, but why did we have three slow defensive minded midfielders in the centre? I could have accepted Muamba and Reo-Coker in there, but surely Kakuta, Tuncay or M Davies should have started in front of Pratley?

I was also massively disappointed with Coyle's choice to throw Davies on in place of Ngog. Davies with a striker alongside him is completely useless, so imagine what he's going to be like up front on his own?! It's time to face facts, he's gone. Arsenal were one of the only teams that Davies could still have an impact against, but if even Koscielny can manage to put him in his back pocket, you know he's finished. Tuncay should have come on and ran at the very slow Mertesacker, we would have been much better off.

I kind of expected the start we've had (apart from the Norwich result) but I'm still very worried at what side we're going to put out against Chelsea!
I thought we started the game with the right team but he could have started anyone of your choices in the Pratley position. Not much in it for me given the limited viewings of some of the players. I'm not sure what his options were when Ngog came off but certainly someone with pace may have helped against 10 men later on. Sounds like we are pretty reliant on NGog in a 4-5-1 and he hasn't played a complete game yet. :|

And the £20m less spent elephant in the room?

Because I could easily argue that 37p was 37p more than it cost us for, say, Holden.

Or ask where Coyle's big money signing is?

Have had the stuffing knocked out of me, not so much with the recent results, but with the performance of the team. We just dont look like a premiership outfit without Holden and CYL. They are the only ones in our current squad that read the game well, know what to do with the ball when they get it, have time to do it due to their good ball control and movement, and do not give it away cheaply.

Without them, we are just not good enough at this level unfortunately. At least Holden will be back shortly. Lets pray he doesn't get injured again. He will be a marked man.

I haven't trawled through every page and only briefly saw the sending off on Saturday night, but are we appealing Wheater's red card?

I (and quite a few Arsenal fans I have spoken to) are of the opinion that Walcott dived, but there doesn't seem to be that much fuss being made. :conf:

that's largely cos nobody (apart from us) gives much of a toss about any injustice - real or perceived - dealt out to Bolton Wanderers. The "story" from that game is (and always was) about, not us.

I doubt we'll appeal it...

Still, look on the bright side; at least Wenger is still in his job for another few months now anyway.

17 years?
That's like another 68 trophies he won't have won before he retires then.

I bet every sentence addressed to them started with "with due respect to Bolton...".

Apparently it is OK to dive if there is some contact no matter how minor. That is called professionalism.

Our captain can vouch for that
