Your'e right we was ace before with what, today being our first away clean sheet in 32 games?boltonboris wrote:Their players have probably turned into a bunch of fat, lazy bastards. Coyle MKIIBWFC_Insane wrote:Anyway see that some Palace fans are not happy with Holloway.
Their form has dipped since he took over.
Perhaps Palace's form highlights what a decent job Freedman had done there, and maybe we should be a little bit patient?

So he's only responsible for the good performances then?BWFC_Insane wrote:Your'e right we was ace before with what, today being our first away clean sheet in 32 games?boltonboris wrote:Their players have probably turned into a bunch of fat, lazy bastards. Holloway is notoriously lax. He's a 'positivity' manager. And when that wears off, there's feck all left

Freedman took over Palace when they were 2nd bottom in the Championship and left them 2nd (?) from the top.
Coyle took us down and then left when we were in 16th in the Championship.
That doesn't mean Dougie is ace but even you cant deny (can you?) that he built a good side at Palace.
What was Coyle's legacy at Bolton?

We had bad times under Coyle..
We had some good times too.
We have had bad times under Freedman.

Re: Palace Game
if we've seen anything from his interviews over these past weeks it's that Freedman makes decisions and if they go right shows a smug, self satified "told you so" response. When they don't & so a furore develops he gives ffrustrated half-explanations.Harry Genshaw wrote:Great result and very happy with a clean sheet.
Not picking Sordell doesn't have to mean poor man management does it?
For all any of us on here know, he and DF have been having long chats about his state of mind and fitness levels and Dougie is slowly building his self belief up again. This is a bloke who was supposed to be severely homesick and hadn't kicked a ball for us in months. 2 goals in midweek doesn't mean everything is suddenly ok again. Marv could have known by Wednesday that he wasn't going to figure today. We just dont know.
These sort of justify what he's done and then, the following week, he changes it (despite having defended it the week before.
So, if I'm right, anticipate a half-arsed explanation, followed by Sordell starting next week.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I couldn't care less what he did at Palace. I'm more concerned about what he's doing at Bolton. If he's responsible for the good performances, then he's also responsible for the poor ones.Harry Genshaw wrote:Sigh. I agree with this, I think that a draw was a very good result.TKIZ! wrote:Palace not lost at home all season, I'm relatively happy with a point

Re: Palace Game
I'm sure you defended Coyle the other day, you know when you described him as a "successful manager", by using examples of what he'd done at previous clubs. Coyle took us over when we were 18th in the Prem. He left us 2 and a half years later 18th in the Championship. Dougie is still well in credit with me in comparison to that chump.BL3 wrote:I couldn't care less what he did at Palace. I'm more concerned about what he's doing at Bolton. The Sherpa Van Trophy! We've won it one time!
Re: Palace Game
no no no no no!!! that's well off script!!! the script is that Palace are ace and that a point away to Palace is gold-dust...boltonboris wrote:Their players have probably turned into a bunch of fat, lazy bastards. no - you're never one to appeal to other teams and their managers in order to make a point about our team are you? oh... errrr...BL3 wrote:I couldn't care less what he did at Palace. Re: Palace Game
To state the obvious, it's a lot easier for a manager to take a team down a league than it is to take one upwards. Ex Premier side or no, we went down and, contrary to expectations by some, aren't exactly dominating things right now. If Dougie should manage to get us into a chance position he'll be a hero, if not a villain. OC was in much the same position. We were never going too far up the Prem, and eventually, one win was the difference in even staying in it. We didn't.
Point is, fifty shades of grey doesn't even get near it for the rest. The fans reaction is perfectly normal but, if you've been one for less than ten years you've got a lot of similar situations to come. If you've been one for more than ten years..... you already know it.

I too found him in the seat number he said (conveniently next to the stairs) with the famous 3rd kit with the name on.89bwfc89 wrote:I haven't really read this thread so apologies for the random input but I'd just like to add that I met Dan today. He IS who he says he is!
He is absolutely who he says he is and is a nice lad, as it goes.

Coyle hasn't been in charge for the last 18 games. We were 16th when he went and we're still 16th now. The only difference is that we were only six points off the play-offs back then.
