Eddie who...I've forgotten about him already

In my book I'll remember him like I remember Gary Megson, and I'll remember Gartside like I remember Franck Passi

Yeah but Nixon said "Real shock" - clearly being lined up to replace Ronaldo.

Think I like Megson more tbh!

For me, the respect went for him went when he put the normal ordinary working folk on edge just before Christmas!

^^ bloody hell.

I have wondered in the past whether some of the shite spoken about him here to a degree but on those other, less considered sites, plus the comments morons of some of the morons in the B(E)N on occasions, didn't make him think "well fck you lot, you ungrateful tossers".
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

IMO he deserves all the crap he's going to get if this continues to go down hill, simply for allowing the club to get to this sorry state.

I've no issue with him wanting to walk away & I'll always be very grateful for how he funded the good times, but the way he's allowed the club to sink & allowed the club to be so mismanaged to be in the position were we are now has completely tarnished everything else he's done for us & personally I won't remember him fondly at all. Bruce disagreed with me a few weeks ago and said that he'll always be thankful to ED for our European trip to the likes of Munich, Belgrade, Lisbon which I agreed with - but ok I may be a moron but its unforgivable the way ED & PG have overseen such a sad sorry decline.

Black and White. Never any gray. The human brain is wired that way. For fxcking good reason's because if it wasn't we'd all be frozen in indecision when the sabre toothed tiger launches. But please, there's no sabre-tooths even remotely present. He (ED) has done some marvellous things, and he's equally been a tosser about others.

He takes the praise for the good times and rightly so! but when the shit hits the fan the fella gets of scott free???

Bobo, If you were the average Joe working at the club and your future was in the balance and your lively hood was on the line! how would you feel?

I'm definitely a tosser, I admit it! but means shit coming from you sat behind your pc/phone screen!

Has he been a tosser? Or just run out of cash to put in?

Eithier way! Similar measures that are being taken now should've happened 24 months ago, Birch should've been here 24 months ago.

Some of the contracts doled out since we got relegated is disgusting! suppose that has nothing to do with him?

Hindsight is always 100%. I remembered us celebrating when Owen Coyle was brought in..one of ours I heard, then when the great Neil Lennon our saviour was brought in..Champions League here we come. Very few said these were mistakes when they were signed on. Now we know.

Mistakes are always made cause we are not perfect. But come on guys, ED backed up his love for the club with his money. Maybe its all done now. Lets not bite the hands that fed us during the good times.

Wait, I'm firmly with you all on the 'Eddie's still alright by me' team, but surely you wouldn't be if he came out and said he pulled the plug just to spite a few knobbers on Facebook?

In fairness, quite a few people said doling out two and three year 20k a week deals for over-the-hill, never-any-good-in-the-first-place shite wasn't the wisest response to relegation.

He's certainly not a tosser and he funded our most successful spell in recent memory - all I'm saying & its only my personal opinion (and I respect others who disagree), is that this last few months for me has tarnished everything that's gone beforehand.

Perhaps a bit harsh, but that's me and its how I feel today - knowing me though it may change next week if Kia come in with a takeover & £100M investment
