"UP until an hour before kick off, Wanderers’ trio of fresh faces faced an uncomfortable evening twiddling their thumbs in the stands at Gigg Lane.

A mysterious piece of paperwork had held up the announcement of Nigel Reo-Coker, Tyrone Mears and Chris Eagles as Owen Coyle’s new signings for almost 24 hours, leaving some doubt as to whether they would take their place on the bench, or up in the stands with the gentry.

Thankfully, and particularly for the 1,625 Whites fans who had made the short trip, Reo-Coker was rushed through just under an hour before kick-off, while Burnley gave permission for Eagles and Mears to participate through the rather more modern medium of their Twitter feed.""

Nowt on official website yet so have they signed or not?

Reo Coker signed at 5pm
T'other two are all-but-signed bar the aforementioned piece of paper.

Was it all a big ploy just to borrow them for the bury game to ensure we won it??

You do begin to wonder if there is something more going on with this paperwork business than meets the eye. It would not normally take this long. The fact they have played for us suggests there is nothing untoward from the player and our sides point of view as they were willing to play and wave at the fans. Are Burnley buggering about?

Buggering about happens all the time. Burnley are, by their own design, desperate for the cash. I'm confident the deal will happen, the chairman just has to come out of it not looking like a mug, as we've had everyone bar the tea lady from them.

See fee was already agreed as Burnley say on their website. So it can't be to do with that. City have Aguero done and dusted in a day and a half. These 2 have been going on since Monday!

TBH I'm shocked that a club with limitless funds could be able to conduct their business so swiftly, whereas we can't. We need answers.

I doubt it's got anything at all to do with money. Fee with Burnley is agreed, officially. So much so that they let them play in a friendly for us. Players have agreed deals. Again they played for us. Perhaps one of em has lost their national insurance numbers

Perhaps the team and OC had a day off today with playing last night and just coming back from tour.

Meaning OC not available till tomorrow for a PSG with the players.

Agreed, Matt Taylor can go from America and still sign for West Ham in the space of three or four days!
