Re: FACup Quarter Final
I think most of this will have probably have already been said, but just got home!
What an amazing game to be at, probably the best I've been too in a long time, regardless of the performance which wasn't exactly vintage, but thats irrelevant now. A great turn out, sang pretty much the entire first half, and then I think it got a bit more sporadic as the game got more tense. The Nat Lofthouse chants and the applause for him afterwards gave goosebumps.
The players clearly enjoyed it a lot after the game as well, Holden singing along and Petrov conducting. SKD clearly loves the FA Cup as a competition, and anyone could see how much it meant to him, he was absolutely knackered chasing everything down, and got his own special send off at the end being the last back down the tunnel.
Funny moment of the day had to be a lad of about 10 years old shouting 'fecking hell ref! You can't see beyond your own tits!', his mum must be so proud!
We're the famous Bolton Wanderers and we're going to Wem-ber-ly!
P.S who's bright idea was it to put Home fans in the tier above the away ones?

The belter of all belters!
I would post my thoughts on the game but to be honest I'm impressed my brain can force my fingers to type atm. Drinking since 9am, sung until my throat was hoarse and laughed and hugged complete strangers at the end of the match. Spent the afternoon in Brum, the majority of which was me and Pru nursing pints and every half hour or so just saying to each other 'mate we're going to Wembley!' Lovely stuff.
There was also a bit of a crush at the front after chungy's goal. Didn't seem too disasterous but hope everyone is ok.

Re: FACup Quarter Final
The ground looked pretty full to me so where did the 23,699 attendance come from? There was no way you could have fit another 5,000 in St Andrews today, I'm thinking Birmingham are trying to do us out of some gate money

The tier above us
The lower tier to our left
500 missing in our bit
God, even their nobs corner wasn't full

Re: FACup Quarter Final
There was a fair few empty seats in our end, block 6, where they sold those 800 spare tickets. And there were a fair few empty seats dotted around the home stands too...

I said the same when we were there. Looking at the TV pictures, you can see plenty more gaps.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Pretty empty to our left - looked like the shite stand. Plenty of empty seats to our right...Salford Trotter wrote:The ground looked pretty full to me so where did the 23,699 attendance come from? Re: FACup Quarter Final
I agree it looked a bit empty but not 5,000 empty....on a separate note I thought our fans were brilliant today and inspired the team to a fantastic performance. I'm not a naturalised Boltonian but even I was singing with a Bolton drawl todayWilliam the White wrote:Pretty empty to our left - looked like the shite stand. Ladies and Gentlemen
I was on here a couple of days ago so I just thought that I would nip back to congratulate you and to give you my very best wishes for the semi-final, whoever it may be against.
It was a genuinely good game of football - and if it was good for a loser, then it must have been great for a winning supporter.
We tried - it was no capitulation from a relegation haunted team looking for a quick exit - but on the day it wasn't enough. At this stage in the season the league table doesn't lie, so the Wanderers just had to be firm favourites, and in the end the superior quality at your disposal made the difference. No excuses from me about players that were missing, because in the final analysis it is the players on the park who are important, not the ones in the treatment room.
I hope that you don't take reaching the semi as the achievement - now you've got to push on and win it, and you certainly can do that. In the Carling semi-final we lost the away leg at Upton Park 2-1 and then went 0-1 down at home - so to all intents and purposes we were out and West Ham were looking forward to a cup final. But this is football, and now we have a trophy in the cabinet. The reason for mentioning this is because it is important for the whole club to believe that it is possible, whatever setbacks you encounter, and you - the supporters of a fine old club - can be the ones to drive your club through to a famous win.
All the best for the semi, the final (hopefully) and the rest of the season. See you in Europe next year!!!
Stan.
