As far as strikers/attacking midfielders go: Bojinov, Diego Capel, van Wolfswinkel, Rubio (Chilean player), Carrillo (Peruvian player), Luis Aguiar (Uruguayan player). This is in addition to Izmailov, Djalo, Postiga and Matias Fernandez who can play in advanced positions too.TKIZ! wrote:Who else have they signed out of interest jmjhb?jmjhb wrote:Sporting Lisbon seem to be signing every attacking player under the sun these days.
Aren't they meant to be getting Bendtner as well? Crazy

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Capel is just a speed merchant these days, has hardly any end product. Might have stagnated at Sevilla, mind you, so a move away might be beneficial.jimbo_bwfc wrote:I know they've signed Bojinov, Van Wolfswinkel and Capel. Capel was quality value at like 3M.

Might be something in the Vukcevic rumours then?
Pfffft.
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Possibly, but I'd be surprised if it was anything but a rehashed article.

Absolutely on the money.keveh wrote:Why are people even considering Barton as an option?
He can't play on the bloody wing, I'd rather have Weiss back.
We have a packed central midfield at the moment and there is no point paying big wages on somebody else to play there when we desperately need a striker!
I might have got excited before we signed NRC and Pratters. But we've now got 5 good midfielders. We can't afford anymore, seeing as we now could do with a winger aswell as a striker or two.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Have we? I'll reserve judgment until I've seen at first handLord Kangana wrote:I might have got excited before we signed NRC and Pratters. But we've now got 5 good midfielders.
as to whether or not any of any of the current five play better, or deliver better set-pieces, than Barton.
I know feck all about Pratley's ability at Premier League level and only know Reo-Coker to be a lazy c*nt.

Didn't Barton play pretty much all his games for Newcastle last season on the right wing? Pretty sure he was effective there.

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
The only common denominator of the fans of clubs that NRC played for seems to be "he put in a shift". Mans got an engine. And has been known to use it.
The point you make is moot though, as we have 3 strikers in their thrities, and two wide players.
If we had the money to beef those areas up and sign Barton, then absolutely, go to it. But I very much doubt we have. So the choice becomes (with the wages he'll want) Barton or striker(s) and possibly winger (loan).
I'm not keen on that.

Firstly, I'm yet to read anywhere that NRC is famed for 'putting in a shift', Villa fans that I know call him a lazy c*nt. However, even if he is good for 'putting in a shift', so was David Reeves, Warren Joyce, Gavin McCann and the likes. Barton's famed for not only 'putting in a shift' but also for delivering an expert ball.Lord Kangana wrote:The only common denominator of the fans of clubs that NRC played for seems to be "he put in a shift". I'd have Barton at our place in a shot. It's for Coyle and for his management ability to be able to keep him in check.

Perhaps you could ask Ashley if we can swap them then?

Swap them? Yes. He's released Barton for feck all despite him having a year left on his contract, and didn't attempt to sign Reo-Coker despite him being available for nowt. Yes, perhaps I should ask if he'll swap them.Lord Kangana wrote:Perhaps you could ask Ashley if we can swap them then?

Calm down dear. I'd have him yesterday. I just don't believe we have the money left after signing three midfielders.

But how come after ten years (or so) we can't afford Joey Barton on a free? And we're fecking about with barely proven types?

Anyway, the more I think about it the more I'd like it. Its just never going to happen. You can quote me on that one, as I mean it.

NRC barely proven? Villa captain for 3 months last year, lots of prem experience. And Coyle hasn't signed these lads for fun, it's because he thinks they are good players. Barton not needed given out lack of options in other areas!Bruce Rioja wrote:Lord Kangana wrote:Calm down dear.![]()

Meanwhile, Bolton manager Owen Coyle was quizzed on whether he would like to bring Barton to the Reebok and while he confirmed the midfielder is a talent, he stopped short on confirming his intent.
"He's a very talented player. We know that," Coyle told Sky Sports News.
"There's no doubt Joey will have very attractive offers because he's a talented player.
"We'll continue to bring the right players to football club. Hopefully I can have one or two new faces, ideally before the QPR game, but certainly before the end of the transfer window.
"Every manager is in the same boat. We're trying to improve our squads and trying to do the best business we can for our clubs."

Read into that what you fancy.

Wasn't Zat Knight also Villa captain for a while? Wasn't last year Villa's worst in about a decade? Do feck offBWFC_Insane wrote:NRC barely proven? We're not signing anyone before QPR

We've got no bloody money, but who else has signed anyone of note outside the top four, eh?

Kinda trolling, but I don't believe we should ever stop trying to improve ourselves, in any department.
