Re: Freedman out!
We will probably beat Leeds and kick on.
I'm going to say a top 7 finish.
We'll get the confidence and push on.
The players are good enough. They just need to believe they are.

If we don't beat Leeds and he doesn't go then you can wobble my tits and call me Noreen!
Leeds are a mess. Piss poor manager.. piss poor side.. lost last night to Bradford in the cup.
If he didn't go then I would be massively worried about where we are going as a club.

I think we will beat Leeds. I worry it will be another false dawn though.
If not I look forward to a gender confused tit wobbling session.

Still think the same Chris?

Do I feck!
(heads towards I was wrong thread) Although we are a season further on now. I wish we had binned him back then!
At the time it was a bit quick for me. We hadn't given him enough time to royally feck us up. He had only partially fecked us up
not sure this is a candidate for the wrong thread. it is still perfectly rational and possible to have been right to think that sacking him after 5 games would have been too hasty.
Using that interpretation when would anyone be wrong - you make a judgement at a moment in time and reflect on it with the benefit of hindsight at another (ad infinitum). Surely only subsequent events support (as far as they can) whether you were right or wrong in that judgement, however rational you thought it was at the time .
Ah, the nice philosophical distinction between making a good choice and making the right choice. The former has to be based on what you know at the time, whereas the latter only becomes apparent later. (cf Unions backing Ed not Dave...Miliband, that is).
but who's to say whats right or wrong or good or bad and does it matter what we say anyway
point is, people could have made a rational observation and say at this stage last season (half a season, a pre season and 5 games into dougies reign of terror) that there was no discernible plan or signs of what we were trying to do as a team. Fast forward 12 months and ........ he's only had 4 games (plus pre-season with his own team, minus the disruptives, and theres no transfer budget and who's an alternative anyway and we can't afford to sack him), its only reasonable we give him more time ..... isn't it ?

No. It's not.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

no. that's not the point - and it doesn't follow at all. nobody (except you) is saying anything even remotely like that.

This is like great poetry. Contains profound truth but allows the reader to seek out the precise nature of that truth for him or herself.

It just seemed fair to give a fuller, more comprehensive answer than "No". Something to get one's teeth into.EverSoYouri wrote:This is like great poetry. Contains profound truth but allows the reader to seek out the precise nature of that truth for him or herself.bobo the clown wrote:No. It's not.

Re: Freedman out!
In todays BEN, Freedman now says that we should stop booing the players and that's he's happy to take the brunt of any criticism. He also says sometimes you don't get the rewards for all the hard work put in on the training ground!!!
And finally that "He can't do anymore than what he's doing already!!!!!"
WTF!!!! Why can't he do anymore, what person in any walk of life can't think they can improve on anything that they do???? I'm fecking fuming at this comment!!! "He can't do anymore" JUST FECK OFF AWAY FROM MY CLUB YOU fecking CHANCER!!!!

One of the few joys I have left in life is coming on here to watch the little morons whine
"Whaaaa! Whaaaaa! Go away, Mr Freedman , you nasty man!!! You smell, you do! Whaaaaa!"
I hope he stays forever.

Watching Beckford's body language on Tuesday when he scored his first and now this it's easy to see that they are building up a real resentment of club and fans. An Allardyce "us against the World" attitude needs not to become "us against the fans".
The fans want decent players to put a shift in and play a mildly entertaining style. That's why there are boos. The failings are all yours Doug-larse. All yours.

Re: Freedman out!
He says our booing of players may affect the young players (who aren't currently being booed) as they might think that they could be booed. Quite fecking right, if they have an attitude like Beckford then if course the fans will get on their backs but if they give everything like Wilkinson did against Bury then the fans will appreciate them.bobo the clown wrote:So, he has noticed then.wigan white wrote:In todays BEN, Freedman now says that we should stop booing the players and that's he's happy to take the brunt of any criticism.

Also reading into his interviews In the BEN, I get the impression he knows the end is nigh for him.

Cos that's one hell of a commitment. How would you feel about maybe a renewed 100 year rolling contract with a plan to reviewing the situation in a couple of millennia? That way the little morons still get to whine about how bad he smells but you still have the option to change your mind about the whole situation on the off chance you get bored.

Or at least until the heat death of the universe.

Re: Freedman out!
Oh right. Did he say anything about the utterly hapless Mat Mills having the temerity to tear an absolute strip off of Oscar Threlkeld on Tuesday night after he didn't close their winger down? That'll have done wonders for his confidence then.wigan white wrote:

Re: Freedman out!
I have been wondering about how Freedman could continue to manage the club after his death. I concede there may be technical difficulties, but these are not insurmountable.
Initially, I feel, a Ouija board could be used for team selections and tactics. However as time progresses, more elaborate rituals would be required. A sacrifice - chickens, stray dogs and the like - would be required before his wisdom is revealed. Finally, a huge ziggurat can be built, with the children of supporters taken to the top and ritually disembowelled to recover his wisdom. The bloodied priest will return to the attendant masses - "we'll be playing a big lad up front and controlling the game without possession". The devout will then formally process to Bootham Crescent, where we'll lose 2-1.
The process will need to be repeated for the post match press conference (or "presser", as we call them).
I hope that answers everyone's questions.
