He's alive, then. That's about all 'stable' means – no immediate danger, situation under control – but by the f*ck I'm glad to hear it.
he could still be in all sorts of trouble, but at least it's not getting worse at the moment.

I don't do touchy feely, but I admit to a few tears being held back here. C'mon Fab .... get through this.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Sadly not. Just that he's not getting worse. Could be (almost certainly is?) on a ventilator – but no immediate danger of worsening, which is the first hurdle to clear.a1 wrote:does "stable" mean he's breathing on his own ?

Over the moon to hear he's in a stable condition, here's hoping he'll recover in due time. I don't know how long he'll be out for and what effect this will have on your season, but the important thing is that he's OK. Great news and all the best!

I assume it means he's concious and breathing.

Has to be the hardest day I have experienced as a wanderer. Thank god he is still with us and lets hope he goes on to a full recovery even if he has to hang up his boots.
Hearing the Bolton & Spurs fans sing his name when he was down on the pitch was very moving.

I really don't know what stable means; I hope it's good news. Just glad he's still with us.

Positive news, may be a long way away but here is hoping the lad pulls through and makes a full recovery.

Although there may be other factors to consider am I right in thinking a lack of oxygen SHOULD NOT be a problem due to the medical staff administering it to him practically 30 seconds after the incident took place?

Surely if he was still in any immediate danger, the prognosis would be "critical but stable" rather than just "stable"?

Put my lad to bed not too long ago....gave him a huge hug, just thankful I could.wanderers_on_tour wrote:Although there may be other factors to consider am I right in thinking a lack of oxygen SHOULD NOT be a problem due to the medical staff administering it to him practically 30 seconds after the incident took place?

Not necessarily sadly. Stable is better than critical in the immediate situation. Don't think we should go through the ins and outs of it now. Lost of things going through everyones minds I'm sure.truewhite15 wrote:Surely if he was still in any immediate danger, the prognosis would be "critical but stable" rather than just "stable"?

Villa fan here, just felt the need to sign up and send my deepest sympathies with what has happened.
Can't really believe it.. and don't really know what to say. Just want to say that when something so devastating happens, it's nice to see that we are all on the same "team".
Keep fighting Fabrice, please keep fighting.

Would anyone mind me posting how they judge what stable means? Don't know whether it would be appropriate?
Pfffft.
