I’d have Peter Kioso then Hayden Carter out of those I’ve seen. Preferred as quicker to Sykes or O’Connel albeit both of those may be better on the old set pieces…

GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 4:15 pmPrecisely that, you'd expect. Evatt talks about character and that shows it, I'd suggest. Wants to prove himself.
What it does mean is we need another centre half in and it gives us a chance to get one in who suits our style of play. Someone like Zech Medley, who was on loan at Kilmarnock last season, would fit the bill - but I'm sure there are plenty out there that Evatt could see doing a job. Someone U21 would be ideal at the minute.![]()
Bit like Amaechi??
Looks like Belgium did not work out
Can we afford the wages if it is not a loan?

Precisely the opposite of what we've been saying we need. Left-sided, lacks pace, etcDave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 1:07 pmJust as I publish a list of right-siders... this lad's a lefty![]()
I really like Zech. He's a good lad. He's funny, hard-working and he loves the game. He's gone to three different leagues to make his way, but he has been pretty dreadful in Belgium. Now the top division there is a much higher standard than people give it credit for and there are some top players in there; but he's been taken to the cleaners too many times.
At this stage he's definitely a project player and I don't see how he fits "the plan" if we are indeed in for him. He's young and there is a player there, so I could see there being an attraction for Evatt....I just don't see how he fits in now. A year ago, yeah. With a view to him being a Championship player 12 months from now? That's an ask on current evidence.

Rico asking for a recommendation for a removals company has sent BWFC Twitter into meltdown.

He must have known what the response to that was going to be. Wonder what he’s playing at.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 2:39 pmRico asking for a recommendation for a removals company has sent BWFC Twitter into meltdown.

He's moving house to the same estate Kacha is on as he's had a pay rise and his family is growing.
Kacha's had his Premier League money, so he's in slightly nicer digs than most.

Could it be that he's moving his family to Bolton and he's got a wicked sense of humour?

I should add that I don't know either of them, it's just surmised from various bits of conversations over the past year.

Kachunga has replied to that tweet calling him new neighbour. Bodes well for that new contract!GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 3:43 pmI should add that I don't know either of them, it's just surmised from various bits of conversations over the past year.

He’s a 26 year old very minor celebrity having a bit of fun on social media. If he was about to leave would he post that? Not for me.The_Gun wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 3:35 pmHe must have known what the response to that was going to be. Blokes having a laugh. Can’t blame him. Those that will wet themselves about it probably should reevaluate their life choices.

Suggests not only that Santos is staying and extending his contract, but that Kacha will still be here next season too. Interesting, given he was the most obvious "drop" if we were to make any changes up top. Stick rather than twist, you'd suspect.

Not keen on Kachunga but I suspect as he’s under contract he’s hard to move on and as we’ve sent Xav back it makes sense for him to be around still.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 3:53 pmSuggests not only that Santos is staying and extending his contract, but that Kacha will still be here next season too. He's a very Evatt player. Everything comes off his work rate and his lack of fitness has killed him this season. Despite that he's on a goal or assist every 300 minutes, which isn't awful for a forward at this level - almost one every 3 games.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 3:54 pmNot keen on Kachunga but I suspect as he’s under contract he’s hard to move on and as we’ve sent Xav back it makes sense for him to be around still.
If he can get a clean preseason this time I think there's a player there, even if I think we might be better off with someone a bit more mercurial somewhere in the squad.
Re: Deal or no deal? - Summer 2022 Transfer gossip!
Aye, I wouldn't be against moving him on and trying to upgrade as I suspect he's on decent wedge (though that would no doubt make it harder) but there's a good player in there. Shame for him that his only period of fitness was when every fecker else was injured but I thought he was our best player Nov-Jan. He's also one I think needs good players around him. He works hard and is bright and sharp, but he's not going to go beating people on his own.

I love him, but he's very much a system player. He's there to provide the platform for other players to win you games. I will bet money that every other player in the squad loves playing with him.Prufrock wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 4:20 pmAye, I wouldn't be against moving him on and trying to upgrade as I suspect he's on decent wedge (though that would no doubt make it harder) but there's a good player in there. If you don't enjoy that side of the game you won't like him, but his pressing really is excellent and he tracks runners better than any other forward. You can see the influence he's had on Dapo's game.

The problem I have is I don’t think he suits or fits any of our systems particularly well but really only in a 4231 does he work. And in a 352 he just doesn’t fit anywhere. He’s not a number 10. And not good enough as a striker given our other options.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 4:00 pmHe's a very Evatt player. I think he worked when he came on vs Fleetwood. He took up good positions and set the tone for the press after we'd had a lull.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 4:39 pmThe problem I have is I don’t think he suits or fits any of our systems particularly well but really only in a 4231 does he work. Again, I get why some aren't into him and I am not invested in him emotionally - I just love that he's a proper pro. Not the most talented player in the world, but understands what the manager has asked him to do on the pitch and works hard for 90 minutes to deliver it.
Again, I think a lot next season will depend on fitness. Kachunga, Baka, Sheehan, Fossey (presumably), Dempsey, Lee, Jones, John...they've all had recurring issues or major injuries this season. Some we've seen at their best, but not for long enough. Others we've definitely not seen the best of.
This preseason will be somewhat determinative - as will actually having enough depth to manage bodies.
Re: Deal or no deal? - Summer 2022 Transfer gossip!
Assuming Iredale gets done, how do we feel about the left side? I think that might be it, with John, Iredale and Johnstone fighting out for two positions on the left (with Aimson, Jones and Sadlier as cover). Think/hope we'll still sign another CB, but don't think we'll see another specialist LWB.
Based only on a reckon, like.

I dunno. I'm not sure Johnston is a LWB and would have to take it on good faith that Iredale might be if John was injured...unless mentally Evatt has Sads as being able to drop into LWB....Prufrock wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 5:26 pmAssuming Iredale gets done, how do we feel about the left side? I wouldn't think it'd be Johnstone, was imagining John LWB, Johnstone LCB and Iredale competing with both. Think he's played there a fair bit. And then Sadlier as further back up at WB, Geth at an absolute push, and the other centre backs/Geth could play on the left if needed.
