My dear Frazier

Pulis left Palace because they wouldn't spend enough money. You're smoking crack if you think we'd have a fifth of a chance.

Bonkpot chairmen aside, Cardiff and Fulham have much more going for them than we do. I'm not sure who you think we are, but I strongly suspect you haven't noticed the financial changes of the last three years. Or you're ignoring them. Or you're an incurable optimist.

Hughton and McDermott we might have a chance with.

I don't think we stand a chance with Freedman to be honest, so just about anyone's worth a punt right now. We're really giving last seasons record breaking start a good run for its money.

After the game against Derby (which even at this range you'd have to settle for a draw) we have Fulham (A), Bournemouth (H) and Birmingham (A).

If we're still in or around the bottom 3 after those games, things will look very bleak. How bleak they have to get for DF to be ousted, who knows?

I don't see how you could blame anyone that's ploughed in a hundred and sixty million quid? I'm just grateful he did and I saw some great players. If you think there's anyone who's likely to wipe that debt and plough more in, I'd be delighted to see them step forwards.

Eddie D deserves no criticism at all for reining in the debt. However he doesn't have to waste the lesser resources we now have on a clueless feck* manager. He can certainly be blamed for that, and letting that cockend Gartside blow all his cash. Poor decisions.

I'm sort of resigned to the idea that he's staying for the season unless the fans at a match do a "Hull/Megson" on him .... which is unlikely as that needs spirit and he's sucked that from us. I'd have McDermott in a heartbeat though.

It's not his fault, but I can't look at Brian McDermott without thinking of this:

Apparently he can't get a settled side because loans keep going back! He's come out with some shit but this takes the biscuit given the needless meddling he's done with team section. The powers that be must be able to see how completely desperate this is, and the sad thing is they've obviously decided to accept it.

Freedman hinted for the first time that some of the problems his side have encountered in the last 12 months have been based on the huge number of loan players imported into the squad.

“I’m very convinced I’m the person who can improve this,” he said after the game. “We’ve taken huge strides off the field but that has not been mirrored on it.

“On the field there has been a lot of movement, in and out, and I’ve never been able to get a settled side.

“The minute I get a settled team, four or five loans go back. We still need to add a little bit of sparkle and that seems to come to us not at the start of the season but halfway through it.”

Constantly defending himself now. He must be under huge pressure.

This is a good thing, btw.

A settled side. Blimey. We can but dream.

“The minute I get a settled team, four or five loans go back."

Who exactly are these four or five loans that figure in the first XL that have been so cruelly snatched away? That statement makes it sound like we have bus-loads. For me it a case of "the lady doth protest too much, methinks". He's promised much, delivered little and is still claiming progress. An honest approach might gain some support and sympathy. Dougie isn't even being honest with himself. Saturday might have been put down to a bit of tough luck and some player error. Surely that can't apply to the rest that have us propping the division up?

Heard him on Radio Manchester talking about the threat to his job like he was talking about the threat of rain ruining his barbeque at the weekend.

He knows it's coming now so why try and do anything about it? Whether it's in an hour, a week, a month or when we collapse in on ourselve completely and form a black hole I bet he's already got a packing box in his office stuffed with ring binders, sachets of sugar from the staff room and one of those ball things that go click-clack.

I've thought for a few weeks that he is on the verge, if not over the edge of a breakdown.

He says he's 'looking forward' to Chelsea.

Bloddy hell. I'm not.

I don't expect to recognise a single member of the Chelski team that takes to the field but I do expect to see their score printed out in letters just so people don't think it's a typo.

We have gone. There is no coming back from this.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

He genuinely doesn't look well, does he?

I think he's got to the "f**k it" stage of his employment. He knows his contract won't be renewed so it might be more beneficial to get fired off now with a nice settlement and get his foot in another door.

Either that or he's a complete mentalist.

If I was the programme editor I'd start the first game with a picture of him in his natty 3 piece suit looking all smart. With the passing of each and every game I'd photoshop it until by the final home game he's dressed like a tramp, full beard, pish stained kecks and swigging from a bottle of white lightning.

Week-by-week you would hardly notice any change in the picture but if you flicker-booked them at the end of the season you'd see the man crumple in front of your very eyes.

He could also write the 'A big welcome to the Chairman, players, management and fans of.....' so that by the end of the season it starts 'Wha..? Wha th'feck* luckin' at y'bast - 'mon then - I'll tek yerse all.'

If only someone did a fanzine.

Clearly gone fcuking raving. Plenty of folks "not on loan" that he's not playing for some reasons of his own.

Perhaps he needs to stop picking the team 6 games in front of the one we're playing and focus on the one that fcking next.
