Re: Freedman out!
It does rain less in Hull, and east of the Pennines generally – away from the Atlantic, y'see. (Plymouth gets more rain than Manchester, but you don't hear that often.) Colder in winter though.
Don't think we ever played a back five with Sam, just four with a holder (Warhurst, Campo, Hierro, that kinda guy). Mendy was definitely better once he was out of defence, and as I say his speed did help our attack.

Exactly this. It became a given that e was shite, but I loved his raw speed. I'm not sure we've seen his like since.Mar wrote:Mendy was a joy to watch. Give him the ball and just watch the man run. Usually miles out of position but it was nice to see genuine pace that made the opposition worry.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Freedman out!
Dougie Freedman calls for truce with Bolton Wanderers fans
Simple enough .... win a few games, entertain us just a tiny bit, stop making excuses and stop being such a contradictory nice person. .... or leave. That'll get some unity. The Scot does appear to have the backing of Phil Gartside despite the chairman’s reluctance to make that support public – and that has prompted him to extend an olive branch to the fans in the build-up to Saturday’s home clash with Derby County.
Freedman feels he has the backing of many supporters who recognise the extent of the rebuilding job he undertook a little under two years ago. But he wants everyone heading to the Macron Stadium on Saturday to put their personal differences with him aside and assist in trying to drive the club back up the table.
“The majority of Bolton fans that I’ve bumped into have been fantastic and fully understand where we are and why I have had to do what I have had to do,” he told The Bolton News. “When you get masses, either on social media, or all in one stadium, then people tend to follow each other. They come up with these ideas but a few people just need to sit down and start looking at a bigger picture for this football club.
I haven’t got a magic formula. I can’t change things overnight. I don’t like our position in the table right now but I don’t see a single player or a single member of my staff tossing in the towel. The players are giving nothing less than 100 per cent and isn’t that what the fans want? Shouldn’t that be what they expect? I don’t look at it any deeper than that. Criticism is criticism but we have all got a job to do.”
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Freedman out!
Woah Woah woah - effing WOAH!
The current atmosphere (or lack of) at the Macaroon is entirely down to Freedman, his 'tactics' and the never ending maelstrom that is his team selection.
Playing for 1-0 wins isn't the way to get the fans behind you. It might be if we were capable of winning games but at the moment we're playing players out of position with no valid reason, over loading and then bypassing the midfield to punt up to an often lone on-loan striker to half-heartidly chase with no great result.
The ball isn't moving fast enough or, even worse accurately enough we have average Championship players struggling to play below average football.
Whose fault is that?
If we can't muster a single shot of note against teams at home why should the fans 'get behind 'em'? Give us something to get behind and we will.
He talks about his plans. Plans? You mean this is deliberate? Eff me. I'd hate to see what would happen if he was just plucking ideas out of thin air.
Desperate last throws of the dice (Wheater up front for the last 10) isn't how professional football should be played every week. Once in a while perhaps, at one goal down in the cup maybe but week in week out?
How many goals have we scored from open play this year?
Who are these players? I'm sure half of 'em don't even get recognised in their own houses let alone shuffling about the streets of Lancashire.
feck off Freedman. Either sort it out or pack your bags.
fecking wanker.

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Re: Freedman out!
What was the last home game we sent out a formation/selection that looked like playing for a 1-0?

Re: Freedman out!
The thing is for a truce to be called both sides have to admit they're in the wrong.
What Dougie's offering is a hand across to his side of the river but I wouldn't trust the bastard not to let go half way and drop us in the river.
He's tried to educate us, he's tried to baffle us and now he's trying to pacify us.
I don't want a truce, I want a Freedman victory! I want him to turn it around - playing his brand of non-football isn't working.
he's the one that needs to come to us.

What was that dreadful little Israelite called that wouldn't sign for us saying that he didn't want to live in the north west............. until Liverpool came calling?Beefheart wrote:I remember when Bernard Mendy here him complaining about the weather, or not liking living in the area, something like that. Have to say I was a little surprised when he then turned up at Hull.

They say he
"woke up in de mornin', trainin' with us, sir,
so that his mouth could be fed.
Poor him, the Israelite. Aah.
Got up next mornin', and went to Upton Park, sir,
Heard that they would pay him the best.
Poor him, the Israelite. Aah.
His wife and his kids, he packed up to leave.
Darling, he said, you going to Anfield.
Poor him, the Israelite. Aah.
Poor him, the Israelite.
He wonder who he's working for now.
Poor him, Israelite."

I think he did say something along those lines.david lee's bald patch wrote:I thought he said he didn't want to play Allardyces brand of football, my memory may be sketchy though
So that would be that really boring shit? The stuff we were playing when we beat West Ham, whilst he was there
2005 - 2-1
2006 - 4-1
2006 - 4-0
2007 - 3-1
That would be 13 for and 3 against. In 4 matches. I wouldn't want to play that brand either. Honest.
Re: Freedman out!
Please just go Freedman....you are doing serious damage to our Club!! I love BWFC and you are NOT the right man for us

Re: Freedman out!
We were a typical tough northern side that nobody took for granted. A succession of four useless managers has turned us into a team nobody fears. Nine league games in and the once mighty Whites propping up the Championship dispenses with any argument. Dougie asked the fans to buy into his great vision and convinced the club to believe it and keep paying him. Today's display tells the truth of it all. The club's a shambles, there's no backbone in the team and the manager doesn't have a clue what to do about any of it. Worse still, a couple of wins will hardly make any difference right now. We're in a right old mess and if Dougie was playing the Moses role and leading us to the promised land, we'd all drown on the way.
Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
