Left back. Started in our last win plus a couple of other games. Looked reasonable enough. Seems odd letting him go to me.bobo the clown wrote:Who the fck is Tyler Garret ??

Anyone who can demand a fee will be gone.
Next one according to "read Norwich" is Clough for £1.5m.

*Edit - Photo's from training today show Clough so probably BS.

According to the BN, the fee for Garrett was a big fat £25k (or 10 days of Mark Davies).malcd1 wrote:Anyone who can demand a fee will be gone.

I cant see the issue with Garrett leaving, he's played a couple of games after we were relegated and was just an average LB - it must be Parkinson's decision to sell him so he either doesn't rate him or has some one else lined up OR perhaps the result of the embargo meeting was a one in one out agreement for the time being, so perhaps he's trying to shift a few to bring in some of his own ?TonyDomingos wrote:According to the BN, the fee for Garrett was a big fat £25k (or 10 days of Mark Davies).malcd1 wrote:Anyone who can demand a fee will be gone.

Also for what its worth IMO Clough won't go for £1.5M, if it was £2.5M then its much more likely.

Will the likes of Stretford still be able to compete in the Chumps league? Terrible shame if not!

I hope they'll be able to compete on exactly the same basis as they'll do so next season.jonnycooper wrote:Will the likes of Stretford still be able to compete in the Chumps league? Terrible shame if not!

He's a defensive 'star' according to the BN.what a crock of shit. Played 2 games in a joke of a team. Also according to the BN fans 'won't be happy' with the fee. Personally I couldn't give a shit. Anyone?bobo the clown wrote:Who the fck is Tyler Garret ??

Agreed, we definitely could do with improving opportunities for our young talent.bobo the clown wrote:They'd set the rules going forward similar to what exists now for players from outside the EU. Standards would have to be met and then no worries.
It may have an impact on the lower level players but would that be a bad thing for local talent ? At present even clubs in the blooming Conference have piles of non-UK players which must impact local development.
Out of interest how does it work for players outside from the EU? If they're already playing for one club in this country and they want to move to another how does that work? Do they need to apply for a brand new work permit or does the existing one count towards it?

Me either. 25k is probably a record amount in recent times too!LeverEnd wrote:He's a defensive 'star' according to the BN.what a crock of shit. Played 2 games in a joke of a team. Re: For new signings, ask the man from the Pru
I thought Garrett looked ok in the few games he played. Had promise. But he didn't sign the offered extension and was out of contract. So we had to sell or go to tribunal and they felt his lack of games would mean we'd get less from tribunal than the £25K we did get.

Re: For new signings, ask the man from the Pru
Obviously a lot of people don't pay much attention
He played the last three games and looked reasonably promising - not world-beating, and at Fulham he made a couple of mistakes, but that's what you expect with kids (and he's a proper kid, 19, not like some of these lollygaggers still in the Dev squad at 21).
With youth players coming through, there'll often be a bit more hope and expectation but also more disappointment when they leave than if it were, say, a 30-year-old journeyman.
I'm not up in arms about this lad going, although that's partly because I have to believe the new regime (and specifically manager) has a clue. I also don't mind a low initial fee as long as it's got conditional add-ons for further the line - this one seems to have those, for appearances (good), promotion (clever) and sell-on (very wise).
Also worth noting that the lad's from Lincoln, so Donny makes a bit more sense for him.
EDIT and Phil Parkinson has said the boy's mind was made up before his (Parky's) arrival. Can't blame him (Garratt for going, Parky for 'letting' him).

Well, on the couple of occasions in which I've seen him play for Liverpool he's been nothing short of calamitous. I also note that he was left out of Hungary's squad.Hoboh wrote:Someone else who is finding life after Bolton to not be up to much!

Club have been given the go ahead by FL to sign 2 players on Friday (subject to medicals etc), possibly even 3.
