Please no not Keane. He was absolutely clueless when he came to the Reebok with Wet Spam.

3 or 4 years and this would have got me excited but not now.

Keane did look poor for the Spammers but he aint become a bad player overnight. With regular football and Owen blowing smoke up his arse, he could do a good job for us for a year or two. I'd be happy with him.

Centre forward is the one area of the team (excluding Jussi) we need to bring the average age down.

I would imagine Carlos Vela or MAcheda would be the ones Coyle would fancy, given Vela hardly distinguished himself on loan last season and is probably available a bit cheaper this year, and Macheda is probably the striker 6th in line at the filth, or maybe 5th if Owen is down the racecourse.

I think Wellbeck and Sturridge are sadly out.

I'd be a bit miffed if it was Keane to be honest...preference to Jerome maybe....

Keane is still only 31, if 100% fit would dramatically improve our striking options

I'd probably prefer Bellamy but I'd still be happy enough with Keane

Keane would be meh. Improvement on what we have, and better than Jerome, but meh. Bellamy seems lilkely, and IF he could stay fit would be an ace signing. My own left-field, feeling in waters is that it is Dempsey, which would be fecking amazing, and would make Jol an idiot. Agbonlahor crossed my mind too. Would add pace if nothing else. How did Eduardo do in Ukraine?

Agbonlahor...now we're talking
Dempseys a good un, but isn't he more of a link man than a striker? knows where the net is mind

Apparently Nixon is saying the deal is around 80% done..... and somebody on twitter was quoting Santa Cruz as being spotted at the ground at some point..... If he was to get back to the goal scoring form he has during his first spell at blackburn he'd be a great addition to the squad IMO...

Also according to Nixon we've got plenty of money to spend as apparently we're closing to signing three players on big wages!

In response to RSC being at the Reebok Nixon said he must have been autograph hunting.

Agbonlahor's on £120,000 a week.

Aye, but doesn't he just refer to him as an attacker, or forward? Dempsey is certainly that. Out wide or second striker. I may be wrong though, have only read the Nixon stuff second hand. Deuce certainly fits the mature but young at heart thingy. Agbonlahor isn't THAT good, but is precisely the sort of player we need. He'd create the space and chances for Klasnic, or he'd let KD go and play right up top where he is most effective, teams knowing they can't just hold a high line and keep us squeezed. You do understand I have just completely made those two up as gut feeling though, which is only marginally more reliable than Tribal et al.

There is no way on this planet Agbonlahor is on £120k per week. Diving bastard has reportedly got a big pay rise in joining the rags, to around £80k. O'Neill didn't rate him that much, and it doesn't fit Lerner's MO.

Apparently according to Nixon 80% means one call away!

Err - that's because I meant Adebayor and therefore made a mistake.
