Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
Good basis of a squad, if we get one or two good signings then on paper we ought to at the very least be in contention for a play off position.mullayo wrote:Our 24 man depth chart (+2 maybes)
GK Ádám Bogdán, Jussi Jääskeläinen, Robert Lainton, Jay Lynch
LB Sam Ricketts, Marcos Alonso (Jail???)
CB Tim Ream, David Wheater, Zat Knight, Adam Blakeman
RB Tyrone Mears, Joe Riley
LW Martin Petrov Gregg Wylde
DM Darren Pratley, Fabrice Muamba (health ???)
CM Mark Davies, Stuart Holden, Josh Vela
RW Chung-Yong Lee, Chris Eagles
FW David N'Gog, Marvin Sordell, Kevin Davies (captain), Tom Eaves, Jack Sampson
Good squad. Much better than most relegated teams end up with. Young, cheap with upside. Expect 3 or 4 new faces..
Keeper: Great for this level. Gotta keep Bogdan.
Defense: Legit left back needed -as Alonso may goto jail- so Ricketts can cover CB. Shame about Wheater injury.
Midfield: Mavies might go. Muamba may not recover at all so need another DM. Wings are excellent for this level though don't tackle well or track back.
Strikers: Sordell and Eaves may step up. Davies may flourish in the rough and tumble while N'Gog is still a wait 'n' see. Chelsea are looking to loan Luakaku get in their Owen!
I'd expect to see either Micheal O'Halloran or Tom Eaves make an appearance on the striker front, most probably the former.

Definitely a good basis for a Championship squad, couple of additions at CB/LB/CM and maybe a CF if we can afford oneHM Murdock wrote:Good basis of a squad, if we get one or two good signings then on paper we ought to at the very least be in contention for a play off position.mullayo wrote:Our 24 man depth chart (+2 maybes)

I like how they pluck a figure out of the air and just say 'Wanderers have said £3.5m because they are in debt'bristolwanderer wrote:Newcastle in for M.Davies? Mail reckons 3.5mil..

I'd sell Mark Davies cos I think he's pretty average at best. But i guess we can't afford to weaken the squad too far.

Southampton have released Jaidi, worth a re-sign?

I would seriously take a look at him for a potential 1 year contract.
Big brute of a CB we require in Wheaters absence.
Not a clue how he's played of late so 'take a look' maybe

Though I'd sooner have Faye if WetSpam go up (is he still there?) and release him

“Maybe over the course of the years this club has paid far too much money for certain things,” he added..

Best chance of hoodwinking anyone for a £5m fee for mark davies this summer..Cant play central mid and doesnt have a good enough end product at top level for the role behind the front man. He should be good in the champuonship mind. Id sell him and sign a couple of headcases for midfield to replace personally.
Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
Some people might disagree but i would sign Kevin Phillips up in place of Klasnic if Blackpool don't keep him on next season.. he would do a job for us in the Championship IMO can't be on to much of a wage at Blackpool either and scored 16 goals this season.

I'd have him.
N'Gog & Sordell starting two.
Davies & Phillips options from bench with Eaves offering pace from there on occasions.
