Not me. The more I see Al Habsi, the more I see why Jussi was aleays number 1. Ali is a good keeper, a great shot stopper but not good dealing with crosses, and remains rooted (give up) far too often when seemingly beaten without making an attempt.elfil76 wrote:as the season goes on, i tend to lean towards al habsi to be between the sticks

As opposed to Jaaskelainen how exactly, then?irie Cee Bee wrote:Not me. The more I see Al Habsi, the more I see why Jussi was aleays number 1. Oh well, can't wait to welcome Mr Kirkland (or is he still out on loan) with our "Wigans, no 2" chant

Re: Al-Habsi to leave
Always felt Al Habsi was a better area controller, but Jaaskelainen a better reflex saver. They're both good keepers, and its very difficult to keep two good keepers happy at a club the size of ours.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

We'll actually be welcoming Mike Pollitt with the "Wigan's number 3" chant...hisroyalgingerness wrote:Oh well, can't wait to welcome Mr Kirkland (or is he still out on loan) with our "Wigans, no 2" chant

He's keeping them out of the relegation zone on his own!
Can't we just recall him so they go down?

Yes, we're just waiting for this transfer window to close, then they're fooked.officer_dibble wrote:He's keeping them out of the relegation zone on his own!

Re: Al-Habsi to leave
that is what I am thinking, if both are not good dealing with the crosses, I am going with the 29 year old. I have yet to remember a good catch/punch from jussi this season when crosses came in. Keepers just need to do them to calm down their defenseBruce Rioja wrote:As opposed to Jaaskelainen how exactly, then?irie Cee Bee wrote:Not me. Jussi dives well and deals with crosses much better than Ali does in my opinionBruce Rioja wrote:As opposed to Jaaskelainen how exactly, then?irie Cee Bee wrote:Not me. He also gets rooted to the spot and his agility is waining. A number of times this season, he's watched a ball take an age to travel towards the goal, whilst he's just daydreaming, luckily those occasions have hit the bar or gone narrowly over.irie Cee Bee wrote:Jussi dives well and deals with crosses much better than Ali does in my opinionBruce Rioja wrote:As opposed to Jaaskelainen how exactly, then?irie Cee Bee wrote:Not me. Re: Al-Habsi to leave
They might be roughly equal at this point in time, but I think the main difference is that al-Habsi has a willing buyer that wants him yesterday. Can we say that about Jussi?

If it happens every time, how is it luck?boltonboris wrote:He also gets rooted to the spot and his agility is waining. Re: Al-Habsi to leave
You obviously haven't see it yet then. His feet get planted and he can't move. The Maxi header for instance

Re: Al-Habsi to leave
I've seen it plenty of times, he didn't just start doing it this season, or even recently.
What I haven't seen, are all these goals that we've conceded because he's just stood there and watched like a nice person as saveable shots have dropped in.

Haven't read this entire thread. Don't want him to leave personally, but how much are we looking at?
I'd rather support Bolton than be you.
