Re: Wanderers v Liverpool
Dare I say a 'Megson-esque' way?Tombwfc wrote:There is not a single other defender at the football club who could sit on that bench?
Seems a reckless way to prove a point.
Re: Wanderers v Liverpool
Bit worried about this over after seeing the line up. A few players there who haven't played together very much.
Let's hope the rubbish liverpool turn up!

Definitely smacks of Megson bringing Ward on against Sunderland to prove the point that we needed strikers.bedwetter2 wrote:Not to mention melodramatic.Tombwfc wrote:There is not a single other defender at the football club who could sit on that bench?

Re: Wanderers v Liverpool
I really don't like the 'feel' of this - what is Owen doing?
Re: Wanderers v Liverpool
The team out there (Alonso aside, I wouldn't know enough about him) is strong enough to take apart the Liverpool team I saw play Wolves.
Add in that Gerrard is benched and I'm quietly confident!
(Very quietly).
I don't like the bench thing btw, seems stupid, just like it did under Megson.
Where is Holden? He was tweeting this morning, no mention of missing the game!

They're discussing it on the stream I'm watching, they all think it's foolish and it would be good to give the kids the big game experience even if we don't bring them on.
Re: Wanderers v Liverpool
As a football club, if we're so skint we can't pay a few kids to sit on the bench, we're fecked.t_o_molloy wrote:They're discussing it on the stream I'm watching, they all think it's foolish and it would be good to give the kids the big game experience even if we don't bring them on.

we really should be doing better against this liverpool team
Re: Wanderers v Liverpool
How do you work that out? We're missing two of our best players and have a left back who's making his debut.midnitefooty wrote:we really should be doing better against this liverpool team
